Q&As

When I'm working with a child or teenager and see the courage and the changes that occur it is for me the most rewarding, joyful experience that serves as a reminder about how important this work is.

I was working in a number of schools where they had shut down the therapy-counselling services and it was so hard to see that happen. I decided then to start my own practice and I'm glad I took that leap.

I'm an integrative therapist which means that I am not bound by one method. I have successfully worked with children and adolescents in a way that is tailored to their needs. Whether a child or young person doesn't want to speak, I find a way to reach them. I am empathic, creative and intuitive. I also have weekly clinical supervision sessions where I discuss my client cases in confidence. This makes me accountable, effective and safe. Additionally, I provide parental support and look at the family in a systemic way rather than looking at the child or young person in isolation. I consider their background explore the roots of their presenting issues. My understanding the brain (neuroscience), child development and Attachment patterns is an integral part of how I assess and observe what is really going on. My website: https://www.plastikprizm.co.uk provides more information about the way I work.
