I am an experienced teacher having worked in the Bolton Bury area for over 25 years. I have successfully tutored children for entrance exams for several grammar schools in the area. I have worked closely with children in mainstream education who need their confidence boosting so they can achieve their potential.

Dawn is a wonderful tutor - not only did she clearly explain to us how she could help our son with his handwriting, she informed us every session what she’d worked on with our son.
Dawn also connected extremely well with our son encouraging him and pushing him to achieve what she knew he could.

Dawn has been working with my son for just a few months, but his confidence is growing everyday. He had an assessment in September and was off track in achieving his SATs.
Less than 10 weeks later he has jumped 33 points and on track for passing his maths SAT.
We have had positive feedback from school regarding his attitude and confidence, when tackling his school work.

My son who’s first language is Russian went to Dawn to improve his mathematics and increase his English vocabulary and help with his reading and writing. My son has issues with his ‘fine motor skills’ which has particularly affected his writing ability. Dawns knowledge in the early development of writing skills and her specific individual plan for my son has seen a great improvement in his writing. Dawn clearly explains the purpose of the activities, makes clear short term goals and also further long term goals. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing children succeed and grow in confidence so that they can achieve their potential. Furthermore to develop a love of learning to last them their whole life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started tutoring children on a one to one basis and small groups so my teaching skills have maximum impact on children's learning.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have a vast amount of experience and varied teaching strategies that I have built up over the years. Having been teaching in schools until Summer 2020. I am very aware of the difficulties teachers and parents are facing at this difficult time.
I have a lively personality which children respond positively to and succeed under my instruction and teaching.

I can offer sessions online via Zoom. The parent will need to provide an email address for this.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Sanitiser is available for use before and after each session. The work area is cleaned between each pupil. Children bring their own writing equipment or have a dedicated pencil provided. Individual resources are used as much as possible. and kept in the pupil's own folder. Shared resources are laminated so they can be cleaned after use. Parents are asked to drop off and collect to allow social distancing between pupils. Secondary pupils are asked to wear a mask in the session.
Tutoring
Primary aged children from 5 to 11 years.
Secondary children up to GCSE.
Subjects Maths English and Science.
