Be very cautious of their deposit policy and don’t fall into the same trap we did.
They ask for a large 50% deposit upfront that’s non-refundable.
Generally non-refundable deposits should be small and not reflective of the total sum so this goes against best practises. Best practises also state that they should only keep an amount sufficient to cover any costs that resulted from your cancellation.
We booked with them for our wedding. Our plan was to have our ceremony and reception at two different venues and use the car to transport us between those locations. However, we had to move our wedding to 2021 due to the pandemic. When we moved it we made the decision to hold the entire event at the same venue to make it easier to move it again if the pandemic continues into next year. American Pie did offer to move it for us free of charge but because we were holding the event at a single venue that meant we no longer needed the car so we cancelled with them.
I asked for the deposit money back, they refused. I then said that I don’t think it’s fair for them to keep the full amount but offered to work with them to find a fair compromise. I suggested they give me a breakdown of all the costs they’ve incurred as a result of our cancellation and keep an amount sufficient to cover that. Or they keep half of the deposit as reimbursement and send me the other half. They had no interest in reaching a compromise and were unsympathetic. In the end, they rather arrogantly said our choice was to either move the booking or lose the money. So we lost the money.
It’s partly our fault for not scrutinising the terms and conditions more when we purchased (lesson learned!) but I just wanted to highlight this for awareness to other people booking in future.

Right from my first telephone call, through to the booking confirmation and completion of the journey, Cupid were delightful to deal with. I felt that I was in the hands of people who truly had pride in their services, and who were thoroughly committed to making their customers happy. That proved to be correct on both counts.Norman, the driver arrived in ample time for the bride and groom's departure, and made an excellent impression by his pleasant and dignified manner, and his polished appearance. I felt entirely happy with him being responsible for the care and safety of the bride and groom on their journey into the Peak District. He even called me to advise that they had been safely delivered to their hotel, for which I was very grateful.The car, a pearl-white Tesla S, was immaculate, and adorned with ribbons and bows, and it made for a very pleasant and peaceful journey, greatly enjoyed by the couple. We booked the Bentley Mulsanne for our wedding on 9th June 2018. From initial enquiries to the day of the wedding, Cupid Carriages were great, very customer friendly and flexible when we wanted to make some changes to the pick up times.

We booked a Porsche Panamera and Tesla Model S for our wedding in June. Both cars arrived on time, looked fabulous, and the drivers were very friendly and professional. We were given bubbly on both trips and a red carpet to step onto when getting out of the car at the wedding venue. For one of our trips the pickup point on a country estate was not easy to find, but the driver managed to be there on time. I had selected matching Badsworth & Bramwith in Champagne, the correspondence to confirm the timings was second to none and such an amazing service on the day with both drivers for mine/fathers (Badsworth) and the bridesmaids (Bramwith) they were so accommodating and professional. We used Cupid carriages for 2 cars and a mini bus and I have to say the service was impeccable from start to finish and everyone I had contact with was a pleasure to deal with. On the day the drivers couldn't do enough to help and the 2nd car stayed a little past his time for photo dispute having another job to get to. Even though there was a problem with one of the cars I originally ordered I was kept informed as soon as necessary and offered an alternative for no extra cost. Our driver couldn't have done more for us on our wedding day, i cant remember his name but he was amazing!! Helpful helping us in and out of the car, holding our bouquets, small things that really helped and wad just all round thoughtful. Fantastic service from the team at Cupids Carriages. I booked the bespoke Rolls Royce Phantom for our wedding last Saturday. The driver was on time (although my bride was a little late!) nothing was too much trouble, our driver even helped my father in law to fit his button hole before bringing them both to the church. Then a lovely smooth drive over to our reception in such a magnificent car, even let me sit in the drivers seat to pose for our photographs. Really enjoyed the complimentary bubbly too!
