What do you love most about your job?
I love providing amazing teachers to help students achieve their potential and inspire them in the subject.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After completing a degree in Business and then doing a postgraduate certificate in Education, I became an Economics teacher and worked at two leading independent schools in the South West. I also became head of cricket and an assistant housemaster during my career. I have an insight into the tutoring world as I worked actively as a tutor for 6 years and saw how the industry could be improved upon. I maintain my passion for Education in the launching of my own business, and Crescent Tuition is about providing a personalised and professional service to students of all abilities and backgrounds.

We take a personal approach to matching you with the best possible tutors, interviewing all tutors personally and selecting active teachers wherever possible. All our tutors are DBS checked and background checks have been carried out.
Tutoring
We can provide tuition individually at your home, in groups, via email, telephone and Skype or FaceTime. We cover all subjects and all levels (keys stage 1 to yr13). Our experienced tutors will devise a tailored approach and strategy depending on what your desired outcomes are and provide regular feedback throughout the process. While many of our clients have children at school we can also provide tuition at more advanced levels, for example to support those at university in areas such as essay and dissertation writing and improving exam techniques.
The benefits of tutoring are huge; our team of tutors will aim to build confidence, provide focus and help them through the syllabus as well as tackling the importance of examination technique. After a period of tutoring you will notice long-term benefits through these elements which they can carry through life.
Welfare and Resilience
We are offering welfare and resilience tutoring for students of any age to deal with the pressures of the modern educational world. Preventing and addressing mental wellbeing issues is key in dealing with some of the more harmful side effects that can sometimes occur, such as anxiety, depression and eating disorders.
Tutoring in welfare and resilience is individually tailored to the students’ needs and is delivered from our outstanding tutor who is qualified in these fields. She has experience as lead student welfare officer, mental health first aid trained and a trained student counsellor, as well as working as a teacher and tutor in two of the South West’s leading schools. These sessions are available as home tuition or via Skype.
