What makes a great website?
A great website is one that is found by Google and that engages a visitor from the outset. It should be appropriate to the business brand, with a clear and easy structure giving visitors a variety of navigation options (ie navigation menus, quick links and links within the well optimized content). Reviews will reinforce the credibility of a business and a good, responsive design will mean it can be easily viewed on a variety of different sized devices. It is also essential to keep the website fresh with changing content, ie a blogging or with upcoming events.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the purpose of your website, ie selling a product or range of products, or a service? What action do you want people to do? ie book a hotel room online or pick up the phone to make a reservation? What is your business's unique selling point? Have you seen a design of a website you'd like one similar to?
What do you love most about your job?
I love 'making a difference' on the web and working with the very different projects and diverse businesses that approach me. I enjoy researching a business's competitor websites in order to do better. I love the flexibility that working for myself allows me and will often work hard during unsociable hours to get something done in order to then have free time to enjoy the other important things in my life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I felt I was entrepreneurial amongst my colleagues when I had a 9-5 job and always felt I could do and give more than my job required. However, in the field I was working, doing more meant a 'managerial' progression and that wasn't for me. I am definitely a 'hands on' person and felt I could go further working for myself than staying in a 9-5 comfortable job.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I do what I say and don't let people down. I only take on projects that I know I can do well and within the timescales required by the client. I won't dessert a client once a project is completed. I always provide a good, follow up service and respond promptly to clients' calls and emails.
