What kind of accounting services do you provide?
We provide the full range of services using many different systems to specifically fit the clients needs and, best of all, we're as happy to work from receipts in a shoebox as we are using data from the most sophisticated digital platforms. We run several different accounting, payroll and tax packages such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and BTC but with HMRC's impending move to 'Making Tax Digital', are proactively encouraging clients towards simple cloud accounting software.
We pride ourselves on being a 'one stop shop' taking care of a client's every financial need. We will do as much or as little as a client wants and can cover bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, annual accounts, company tax, personal tax, company secretarial and corporate finance activities such as buying or selling a business. We also provide Finance Director services and even a full outsourcing service where we act as a business's entire accounts department doing everything from making payments to collecting the money in.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Simple......what you can measure you can manage! Anyone without a handle on the finances of the business - past, present and future - is not in full control of that business.
What do you love most about your job?
The knowledge and experience gained from working with a whole host of different businesses in different industries - there's simply not a text book in existence that could come anywhere near giving you the same insight into the real world of business. Oh, and all the different characters involved too!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having been an FD in industry for several years, I was simply growing sick and tired of the exorbitant fees being charged by so called professionals for a distinctly average service. I mean, who needs £250/hour to live on! It also got to the stage where I would think twice about even picking the phone up for fear of the stopwatch ticking. Cash is the lifeblood of young, growing businesses who can ill afford to see it being sucked out of their coffers. I vowed there and then to set up a firm providing all the essential services to SMEs but with a difference - there would never be a timesheet or stopwatch in sight and all services would be provided on a pre agreed fixed fee basis only.

Down to earth - there's no lofty pedestal in this business just because we may have a few letters after the name. We're happier in a restaurant, down the pub or at a football ground than we are at a tax seminar!
