James came through the recommendation of a structural engineer contact. I met with a number of architects/studios when searching for an architect to design an extension and interior conversion for our Georgian Town House. James came out on top because he took time to understand our vision for the house and what we needed as a growing family. We wanted beauty but we needed function which James balanced in his designs. Along with this he talked us, and actually held my/our hand/s, through the process of the renovation from design to completion. This was the first project I had done like this so having someone I could trust, as well as rant at, was vital. We had trials and challenges through the build but James remained calm and reasonable, keeping us focused on the end goal. We now have a beautiful home which we cherish. I would go back to James again if I ever decided, or had the money, to do this again. More...

What inspired you to start your own business?
A passion for making architecture a more diverse and equal profession, going against the status quo. Using my platform to amplify the voices of underrepresented groups.
Why should our clients choose you?
I forge strong relationships with clients and collaborators and believe good design starts by solving spatial problems first. Sustainability informs everything we do from our processes, design approach and material choices. I have experience on private residential projects, from small transformative refurbishments to high-end private homes, community, hospitality, education and cultural projects.

In person, online, or remotely. For local projects meeting in person is preferred, especially if working with existing buildings. For projects further afield, remote calls and meetings are welcomed.
