I was recommended Jamie by my spinal consultant and my Pilates teaching as a excellent PT who focuses on back issue. The key points I would highlight about Jamie are
1- fully understands that I was some what nervous about lifting weights with a bad back and has strong ability to identify when to stop with training or push on
2 He focused on some key strength exercises but ensures that my technique is excellent. I have had a few PTs and I would say Jamie is the most focused on performing the exercise correctly.

In terms of results i have been working with Jamie for around 10months.

1- I am much physically stronger than I have ever been
2 -I have confidence to replicate Jamies exercises in the gym by myself
3- my back pain has reduced over the period

I saw Jamie for 5 sessions after I had a Lumbar Discectomy. I was told by my surgeon he was the best person to go to before I started working out again. Jamie is an excellent trainer/Coach. Highly professional and very thorough. He showed me how to work out again without the worry of injuring myself again. Really good experience all round. More...

Clinical Strength has truly been worthwhile.
Tom is knowledgeable, attentive, insightful, encouraging, as well as reflective when checking in. He cares about his clients which speaks volumes.
I appreciate that Tom takes the time to evaluate my goals and how to achieve them, whilst accounting for my needs. Every session consistently leaves me feeling very positive. In turn feeling satisfied that I have gained from applying myself in each session. Always sufficiently challenged and motivated to do better with Tom.
Training with Clinical Strength has made a difference in my day to day health and fitness level. Particularly my health during recovery from infections, as well as my daily asthma management and the fatigue that results from it. "You're stronger than you think you are." Clinical Strength will prove it to you!

It’s a pleasure to train with such a dedicated and professional team. Laura’s understanding of the mechanics of the body, her background as an athlete, her extroverted personality and her current studies in oesteopathy are an asset when it comes to training with her.

My sessions are always fun and varied, customised to my needs and aimed at achieving my goals. It’s very motivating to continue making progress and the gains in strength achieved through my PT sessions are reflected in my tennis training.

I always look forward to my sessions!

I’ve been training with Jamie for 2 years, starting from a complete novice.

In that time, I’ve developed noticeable muscular development and improved my well-being considerably.

Would highly recommend.

Laura at Clinical Strength is by far the best trainer I have found in London that fits my needs . I have chronic lower back pain, diastasis from pregnancies and very prone to injury when training. Laura has returned me to strength and fitness, has me deadlifting again and works with me on breath and lung capacity. She is truly gifted and has great, positive energy. I always look forward to our sessions! More...

I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Laura M. from Clinical Strength. I could not be more pleased with the very professional and focused training that she continues to provide. Her experience working with athletes is apparent, and she’s able to relay appropriate training techniques to working professionals like me. I’m back to running regularly and am picking up kilometres and speed each week since training with Laura. The personalised teaching, facilities, and equipment are all top notch. Definitely recommend to others More...

Very tailored and customised experience with great attention to important details. The team are also very skilled / passionate about their work and always looking to grow and improve. Relentlessly focused on goals and giving their all, they are great role models even away from the goals that they set for their customers. Hard working trainers that will work you hard in a fun and safe environment More...

At the recommendation of a sports medicine doctor I began working with Laura Marchesini of Clinical Strength. Having been diagnosed with hamstring scars and adductor tightness, the doctor explained to me that cardio and stretching were simply not enough to sustain my current level of physical activity without probable further injury. A third element was necessary: strength. He recommended Laura. It was a great recommendation.

She is a true professional, dedicated to your progress whatever your sport or level of activity. Weight training demands expertise which I didn't have. Laura was painstaking and patient in her approach, never letting me risk injury. She devised a series of exercises designed to help with my running and swimming. She was able to work around previous injuries by strengthening weak areas and muscles. If you have ever wondered, or indeed if, like me, you have ever been skeptical of what strength training can do to complement your activity with a reduced risk of injury, give Laura and her empathetic and individually tailored approach a try. You won't regret it.

I work weekly with Laura. I have severe tendopothy in both shoulders, as well as a dodgy knee and lower back. I am 69. Laura has been perfect at restoring my body strength and movement whilst always being totally in tune with all my aches and pains. She is quite brilliant at her job and works closely to a plan, improving each week and adding new tasks to keep an upward trajectory. I can't recommend her highly enough More...

Amazingly, I've now been training 3 to 4 times a week with Jamie/Clinical Strength continuously for 17 months. Before this, I'd never managed to stick to any sort of training programme or physical goal for more than 6 weeks without an injury or my lack of discipline letting me down.

I have a lot of positive things (only positive!) to say about Jamie/Clinical Strength but I chose to start with this one because giving up after a strong start is such a common thing amongst all my friends and acquaintances--we're fairly typical and predictable, just like the January spike every year in gym membership and attendance.

So why is CS different? What makes me want to keep training, or dare I say it without sounding like I'm exaggerating, crave my training sessions? I have thought about this and it comes down to three things:

1. All of the CS training is deeply, deeply rooted in science--I've never met a trainer with so much knowledge and so many degrees, underpinned by personal experience garnered at elite-level of competition. As a result I trust that Jamie and the team are abreast of the latest knowledge, techniques and methodologies (not trends!). This combination gives me two things that contribute enormously to my ability and desire to stick with training. One: I know I'm not going to get hurt and lose all progress while I recover, and two: I know that the time I invest in training is going to give me optimal results, which is fundamental for me given my career-imposed time constraints. Another thing that contributes to excellent outcomes is that Jamie has an amazing ability to remember what I've done in terms of exercises, weights, sets and reps, and knows when to push me for a new PB without making it about my ego or letting me overdo it, which translates into great progress and motivation, and--I'll say it again--no injuries.

2. Everyone trains with different goals in mind. For me these were focused on having more energy (for work and to keep up with my three sons!) plus improved strength and flexibility. All of my workouts are tailored toward these objectives, in the same way they would be if my goal was a triathlon or to body build--Jamie has a track record to back up his approach that spans everything from rehabilitation to pro wrestling to elite athletics, or even just helping one look better at the beach!

3. Jamie is thoroughly professional. That means he's completely discrete, and will be as personal or impersonal as your needs and personality require. I trust him to come into my home and interact with my family as much as I trust him with my health and wellbeing. His professionalism also means he's not being pushy trying to sell me additional sessions or supplements I don't really need nor want, or advocating for the more expensive in person sessions versus online except when it makes sense for my personal goals. On the contrary, he's flexible and fits around my schedule, another thing I really appreciate; he'll meet you where you are and help you go where you want to go. He has enormous belief in me and this is true of the other clients of his I've happened to meet.

Finally, I'll say that Jamie and the team have a permanent growth mindset, both for their clients and themselves. Every time we train, there's new research to talk about or some new technique he's helping me perfect. That's one of the things that keeps me engaged and committed to my training goals: not only are we working on my body, we're working on my mind.

From a value, outcome and sheer helping-me-stick-to-it perspective, I could not recommend Jamie or CS any more highly.

Jamie is quite simply unbelievably good at what he does. He is constantly looking to improve his own knowledge of the human body and how to help his clients. He cares about each individuals goals and aspirations and works tirelessly to help us achieve them. Such care and attention to detail on an individual tailored basis level only comes from someone with the appropriate expertise, insight and character to be able to do it and Jamie has all those qualities. I cannot recommend him or his wider practice strongly enough. More...

I have been working with Jamie at Clinical Strength for years - at first he helped me to rehab from a long term back injury and pain in the space of a few months and prepare me to do an intensive year long martial arts training course and he did a great job of preparing me for it both physically and restoring my confidence. After my return from the course he has continued to train me and build my strength and fitness steadily to complement my life and my martial arts training. Highly recommended. More...
