What makes a great website?
Essentially it depends on what it's designed to do - generate calls, email web forms or online conversions, ie E-Commerce. They must ALL be fully compliant with the new GDPR Data Protection regulations that came in on May 25th and also load according to the latest Google algorithm (1st August update). For example Google now wants the mobile version of sites to load on 3G in under 3 seconds to maximise the organic ranking.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What they wish to achieve in the next 3-6 months - this then forms part of my strategy and planning.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting new clients and seeing their joy and delight at the new sexy websites I create, or the increased ranking on Google and Bing. I have many clients that are not only on page 1 for Google, but actually there more than once! One of my parking company clients is currently there THREE TIMES on page 1 of Google!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I did it before prior to returning to Yell. A variety of factors made me go Freelance again, which I will continue until I retire in 11 years.
