What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe that the secret to taking a great photograph is capturing things that happen naturally or, in the case of portrait photography, to capture someone when they're most comfortable or even capturing them off-guard. This allows me to capture people's genuine moments, emotions and expressions.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask the client 'What kind of photos are you looking to capture?' From this information I will make a more personalised plan for the session which enables me to work efficiently and ensure they receive the products they require.
In addition I would also ask what kind of edits they're looking for and to what extent they'd like the photos to be enhanced. This means I can get the edits done smoothly and respects the clients' requirements.
What do you love most about your job?
While I love building rapport with clients and capturing great photos that they can keep forever, I also thoroughly enjoy the editing process where I can really pollish the image and bring out the best parts.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After studying in fields that I felt were leading me to dead-ends in my pursuit of a career and struggling with my confidence, I felt the need to escape the daily struggle of trying find a job. This led me to discover that I had the means to create my own business - I had the natural gift for taking photos and the technical abilities to edit them to a professional standard. On top of that I had access to a studio, high quality cameras, lighting, backdrops and props. This is what lead me to start building up the business. One of the best things about having my own business is having creative freedom and doing things my own way which means my creative, artistic side can shine.
Why should our clients choose you?
I provide a professional and friendly service with a laid-back atmosphere. This means clients can relax into a session and we can work together to capture the photos they're looking for. I believe in preparing a session with structure but also allowing the client to experiment with mine and their own ideas as I believe capturing photos should be a collaborative project.
Photo Restoration
I can repair old photos, restore their clarity and even colourise them using Photoshop.
