CR7, Thornton Heath
Having trained and part qualified as a chartered accountant, I was approached by several clients to set up my own practice. I have since provided bookkeeping and accountancy services to sole traders, small companies, partnerships. These services have included setting up individuals and companies to meet HMRC/Companies House requirements: completing and filing VAT returns, payroll information, self assessment, partnership and corporation tax returns.

What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Bookkeeping - Quickbooks/Xero - keeping transactions accurate and up to date, including bank transactions, payroll and Vat (where relevant). This allows the business to access up-to-date financial information, reports and charts to enable decisions to be made in a timely manner.
Accountancy - moving on from bookkeeping services to ensure up-to-date information is reviewed and discussed to support business development and identify key areas of strength and limitations
- presenting and filing financial statements with HMRC/Companies House by the due date and in the required format and detail
- preparing management/annual accounts for individuals, partnerships and companies who maintain their own books and filing accounts with HMRC/Companies House
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Each business is structured in its own way, so the ability to offer appropriate services at the right time is essential to a good relationship, effective financial reporting and moving the business forward in the right way.
This can include freeing up the business by taking over its basic bookkeeping services, whilst at the same time providing up-to-date information which can be accessed 24/7, as well as working with clients to provide quarterly or annual accounting services.
Having an accountant who can provide an ongoing accurate picture of the business allows decisions to be made in the most effective and efficient way.
What do you love most about your job?
I have always enjoyed working with people, problem solving and providing tools and information for individuals to develop their own skills. Analysing figures and detail to allow clients to expand at the right pace and in the right direction is a further aspect of my role I find really satisfying.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I moved into being a freelance accountant as a result of demand. It was a little daunting at the time, but the freedom to work in my own way, whilst retaining links with a network of other accountants and the availability of continuous professional development has made it all worthwhile. I feel it also puts me in a good position to support clients when considering 'going it alone'.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe that I offer different levels of service at competitive and cost-effective prices, and that these services are flexible enough for clients to move forward in the way that best meets their needs.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I provide services mainly remotely, having access to clients' software. Where clients do not currently use software, their information can easily be imported into my practice's packages and, for annual accounting, information is now easily shared via email or zoom meetings.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Currently I no longer have any covid 19 safety procedures in place, but when it was necessary, I wore a face mask and had a Perspex screen.
