Dear oh dear , where to begin.
What a way to make a living.
Intimidating the elderly or vulnerable.
Before employing maybe ask them why they were thrown out of the trade association.

Simple plumbing job and they sent the village idiot. Stewart then tried imposing spurious charges. Wouldn't have him in my house.

Warning! DO NOT use this company under any circumstances. Not only do they provide a shoddy plumbing service, they purposely employ an inadequate billing process and follow this up with bullying and intimidation to frighten vulnerable older people into paying spurious late payment charges. My 82 year old mother, who is a full time unpaid carer for my father, got Chas Stewart Plumbing and Heating Ltd to fix a broken kitchen tap in June 2021. The job was done on 21 June although the work was poor and the problem was not actually rectified. Nonetheless, my mother offered to pay cash on the day. This offer was refused and she was advised that an invoice for the job would be sent. Unfortunately, no invoice was sent. Six months later, in December 2021, my mother received a phone call from a company demanding payment. In the intervening 6 months, my mother had forgotten about the job and, because she had never actually received an invoice from the company, suspected this caller was a scammer and refused to pay. On 16 March I travelled from London to visit my mother as she had been unable to access her computer for a number of weeks. I checked her email account and discovered an email from Chas Stewart dated 3 March 2022 saying they'd been chasing her for payment and demanding immediate settlement of the outstanding amount. No invoice was attached. This was followed up a week later on 10 March with another email saying they were threatening to take her to court to recover the debt. As part of the legal papers an invoice was attached - the first one my mother had ever received. There was an additional late payment fee as part of this amounting to £125.00, dated January 2022. This was also never received by my mother. I phoned the company to it sort out, but the company refused to accept any liability for the situation or acknowledge that their communication had been at fault. I paid the original bill in full which they accepted. While it's good that the original payment amount has been accepted, this whole situation was handled so unprofessionally it looks like nothing more than an attempt to bully a vulnerable elderly lady into parting with more cash than was warranted. Absolutely NOT recommended. More...

AVOID! AVOID! STAY AWAY!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
Steven Stewart and his brother Charles go out of their way to make money, which will be at your cost.
They are dishonest, unprofessional and the job will not be done after their involvement. In fact it will cost you more to fix things after they were there.
YOU WERE WARNED

Sorry, but - DO NOT USE CHAS STEWART - they removed a Rayburn from our kitchen in November 2019 for an agreed price of £1000 because I was desperate for it to be disconnected (new kitchen on the way) - as it turned out, it was a very easy job (though the Rayburn was heavy). They never got back to me with the details of why they calmly took all that money. UNPROFESSIONAL. More...

Very unprofessional company. Be careful !
If you have plans employing them, keep a close eye, supervise what they do and record at all times, more over inspect the works before paying the invoice.
We have been charged just over the 1000£ agreed price for the allegedly extra works carried.
When refused to pay it, supervisor who we met on site confirmed that the works carried out is as per his initial pricing, but the owner still pursuing this spurious claim and asking us to pay extra.
Stay away !

Chas is more thug than plumber - he blatantly over charges and then when questions tur on to full aggression an intimidation tactics. Even in the worst plumbing disaster, I would urge others to find an alternative tradesperson and not to let "Chas" or any other member of his company cross the threshold of your home - his tactics and business practises are verge on criminal. Untrustworthy, well the owner anyway.
Overcharges then gets bolshy when questioned.
He isn't remotely intimidating but save yourself a lot of hassle and phone call threats from them.
Avoid.

Rip of merchants. Quotes are as well being thrown away. The bill will be much higher, especially if pensioners involved.
Guys a complete imbecile.

Any changes to their original estimate will be inflated. Average hourly rate £100 per hour - £750 - £800 per day. Avoid

Once again saved from the cold! This is the 2nd time working with Chas Stewart Plumbing and in particular Ryan who came out on the same day when the boiler broke down, ordered the pieces and returned at 6 pm two days later when he had received the pieces and fired up the boiler. We are a business so it is so important that we can rely on companies who have professional workers who are conscientious and competent. Thank you to all the staff. More...

We've had Paul and Ben out for the last three days and we couldn't recommend them highly enough. They went above and beyond and couldn't have been nicer. The sparkies who came out were fab too, but we didn't get their names. Fantastic service, very friendly and helpful and well mannered. Ben is a fantastic apprentice and he'll make a great plumber one day. :) More...

We asked Chas Stewart to replace the old boiler and hot water tank in our 1970s bungalow with a gas combi boiler. I could not be more pleased with the work the guys did. They were so polite and friendly, did an amazing job, and even swept/mopped the kitchen floor when they were done. Amazed they got the work done in just over a day! Can't rate them highly enough.
