Cathy Phillips & Co solved brilliantly what my husband and I considered to be a big problem : How to rejuvenate a flat in London, under a set budget, when you live overseas In the selection process Cathy stood out from the various interviews I conducted because she listened and allowed a great deal of time to make sure that we were understanding each other. This has proven to be the case throughout the project from mood board until completion. Having ideas is one thing, making them come true is another one. Cathy succeded in both. Being away meant that she was very much in charge but we talked a lot over the phone and corresponded via mails and web. She sent us regularly factual progress reports, made very clever suggestions as we went along and always had our satisfaction on top of her mind I would certainly recommand Cathy to any one looking for a dedicated and competant interior designer able to lead beautifully and efficiently the transformation of a living space. What’s your interior design process?
After long chats with my client about their needs, likes and dislikes, I survey the space and produce mood boards to give them an idea of the creative direction. Once everyone is happy with these, the client can expect detailed interior design drawings and full lists of each and every item used in the scheme, along with briefings for any contractors to be used. If required, I then project manage the job to completion.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I'm happy to work with whatever styles suit the client and their homes. If anything, though, my preferred styles would be modern, sleek, contemporary, uncluttered.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the delight on people's faces when presented with the design proposals.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always loved interiors and, after completing a diploma in interior design, I put my background in marketing and project management to good use running my own company.
Why should our clients choose you?
I really listen to clients and their needs and try to come up with practical as well as beautiful solutions. Clients can rest assured that they will always be kept informed of progress, budgets will be adhered to and they won't have to deal with big creative egos with me.
