Catering for Suffolk

We are not big reviewers but felt that we had an exceptional level of service from William and Sarah and thoroughly enjoyed working with them to come up with our menu for our wedding and then to be able to stand back on the big day and see that they have produced everything we could have asked for and more was just fantastic. We found William and Sarah thanks to a referral from a friend at work and this lead to an initial chat on the phone and quickly followed this with a cup of tea and discussion on what we would like to have served on our big day. There were no set menus to choose from and being able to discuss food and recipe ideas with such passionate people and create a menu was a really fun experience. We ended up with a really personal menu that reflected us and what we wanted from our day. (We were 140 people seated on the day) We had a range of canapes that reflecting our recent holiday to Thailand and also some Dutch influences we wanted to incorporate with William making hundreds of Bittenballen by hand. For mains William excelled himself with cooking legs of lamb over an open fire and at the same time presiding over smoking venison loins in my own smokers he had only tried out a couple of times before. The meats were served with a selection of salads, couscous, warm potato salads all in an Ottelengi style. For pudding we opted for a selection of mini puddings/petit four style and followed this by a tiered wedding cheese cake with accompanying biscuits chutneys etc. Sarah ran the ‘front of house’ role flawlessly and we had so many positive comments on how friendly they and their team were. There was never a queue at the bar which ran so smoothly, the clear up afterwards was meticulous and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. Overall we felt like we were given the freedom to do what we wanted and at the same time guided and had our hands held through all the build-up; then spoilt on the day and left with brilliant memories and friends still saying “we’ve never had such fun and delicious food at a wedding before”. What a wonderful team! They recently catered for my daughter’s wedding and their delivery of the food and the drinks from the amuse bouche and bubbly through to the meal was faultless. My daughter and son-in-law knew the sort of celebration they wanted. What William and Sarah gave us all was an experience that very much reflected the couple’s personalities. The legs of lamb cooked over a oak smoke fire outside the marquee were a talking point. The staff serving the canapes managed to keep us nibbling without being intrusive. What particularly impressed me was the way they ensured that the food kept up with the wine before we sat down to eat. We’ve all been there. Late afternoon wedding breakfast when you haven’t had time for lunch. That glass of fizz can go straight to your head! Knowing how to keep the food and wine flowing is an art, ensuring that everyone’s favourite uncle isn’t singing ‘My Way’ before the meal is done. Money doesn’t always buy the sense of security that your wedding catering is in safe and knowledgable hands. William and his team were fabulous - I would definitely recommend. They catered a 3-course dinner for 22 of us. Food was delicious, and they cater for every dietary requirement with no fuss, and they left the kitchen far cleaner than they found it!
