Q&As

I love being with others and seeing how through their journey in counselling they change. I am inspired by my clients and by their ability to be courageous enough to show vulnerability.

My own mental health was impacted by personal events and I went to see a counsellor. From that day I wanted to be a counsellor. This job is an honour and a privilege every day.

I would ask clients to meet me for an initial session and decide if I am the right counsellor for them. We are all unique and choosing the right counsellor is a deeply personal decision. As a counsellor I will be there to support my client every step of the way.

I do offer online sessions via Zoom. When booking your session with me please let me know you want to work online and I will email the Zoom details for the session to you.

I continue to keep my room well ventilated between sessions and I have anti-bacterial spray for the room which I use between sessions. I am up to date with my Covid Vaccinations. I work with vulnerable clients who live with cancer or are carers so keeping my Counselling Cabin safe and clean is a priority.

Anxiety is a complex emotional response that is similar to fear. Anxiety can limit people’s lives in many ways however, when anxiety interferes with our day to day lives it can become consuming. This is the point when talking to someone will help.

I offer Alzheimer’s and Dementia counselling in Fleet, Hampshire both online and face to face. Caring for a loved one or working as a carer for someone living with Alzheimer’s or Dementia may leave you with feelings of isolation and loneliness. This can become overwhelming and lead to anxiety, depression, grief and more. As your counsellor I offer a space to talk where I will listen and help steer you through. I understand how the feelings of fear and apprehension about ‘what to do’ and ‘how to do it’ for example, may weigh heavily and talking through your feelings in a safe and confidential space may help.

Overwhelm is the emotional feeling of being overwhelmed. It is an emotional feeling which can take over with an intensity that feels difficult to manage. It can affect your ability to think and act rationally and evoke anxiety and stress. Emotional overwhelm may be caused by anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship issues, long term illness, sudden changes in life, work overload, money concerns. It can be caused by simply having too much on your plate leaving you no room to cope anymore.

Depression and Low Mood Counselling

It is normal for us to have ups and downs and some days you may feel a bit low, for lots of different reasons. People may say they are feeling depressed when they are feeling down, but this does not always mean they have depression, they may have a low mood. Depression is a long lasting low mood disorder and it affects your ability to do everyday things, feel pleasure or take interest in activities. Depression is a common mental health issue so you are not alone. There are many treatments for depression and counselling is one of them. As your counsellor I will help you explore your feelings and help you understand and accept them.

Talking with a counsellor will give you the space to work through and process your emotions aiming to reduce overwhelm and to offer you ways of coping.
