Here at Canine Training Academy we believe in having fun and applying a holistic approach when it comes to understanding the needs of your canine companion. Whatever your goals, we will get you and your dog enjoying life to the full and help you make your home a happy and harmonious place.

Our Head Trainer Shelley has over 25 years of experience in the canine industry, Shelley has amassed a wide breadth of skills and expertise; from training, professional dog handling, canine health and wellbeing to grooming, whelping and showing her award winning Giant Schnauzers to a championship level including Crufts.

Shelley passionately believes that everything is connected, so it’s not just about treating the obvious problems or providing one specific technique. All aspects can make a difference, from diet to the dogs history and their environment. So Shelley works with you and your dog to provide a positive, long-term solution, ensuring you have a complete and fulfilling relationship together.

In this bespoke 1:1 environment, during a 60 minute session, you and the trainer can focus on a range of areas, whether building confidence on or off the leash, basic commands or addressing more challenging social behaviours.

We always recommend a discussion with our head trainer first before booking a 1:1 session to ensure you and your dog are getting the most from this.

This method of training is most beneficial to individuals who have specific needs. 1:1 training helps you achieve your training goals more efficiently and with less pressure than a group environment.
