I am a sole trader, photographing for the official Bury St. Edmunds Calendar. I also have a small studio and have particular interest in Landscape, Commercial and Outdoor Portraiture. As a self-employed photographer, you get personal service from beginning to end and are supporting a local business.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Knowing your equipment, being in touch with your subject and capturing a special moment. Being in the right place at the right time helps, but researching your subject and location is essential, and then making that connection.

What are you trying to achieve? - what are the aims and goals.

What do you love most about your job?
I think that I’m in charge, I know what I can and can’t do, I like to produce images with my own signature style which hopefully appeals to others. I can manage my own time and don’t have to worry about employing someone else.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love photography, it has expanded my horizons, and through my education I have gained experience across all genres. I feel I have a distinct style and wanted nothing more than to do a job that I love.

Because I am a local small business with no hidden overheads and they get the personal touch from the start to finish.

I can process remotely and take local drone footage, but unable to shoot remotely.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
For all shoots I am equipped with masks and sanitizer, I carefully monitor my own symptoms and using longer lenses to maintain social distancing. Any shoots would currently be outside and would require separate travel arrangements. Equipment is cleaned between clients.
Drone Operator
I am a CAA licensed drone operator and can provide aerial video and stills.
