I responded to Mark Briggs on Bark, who came to see me last Friday to give us a quote for an initial job. We were interested to see how well he worked as we would have had a lot of extra work to give him, plus 2 referrals, with yet more extensive work for him.
He told me a price and the time it would take to cut all our large hedges and organized to come for a full morning, with another man, during this last week. He promised to email me details of which day they would come, last Sunday. I didn't get an email and as such left a text message asking him for the day. He sent a text back apologising, saying he'd been in London for the weekend but would email the next day.
I am still waiting and he no longer responds to my messages.
We will be hiring another, reliable gardener.
I would be sympathetic if something had cropped up, if he'd at least had the courtesy to let us know one way or the other.

Thank you for your feedback. I was disappointed that you were not satisfied with the service provided. I feel on this occasion there was a mismatch between the expectations of the customer and the requirements of the job. Weeding and cultivating a border is a lengthy, time consuming task for which there are no short cuts, if the job is to be performed properly. I am always willing address and remedy an issue, given the opportunity. I have been gardening for 10 years since March 2008 and can provide references from many delighted, long standing and exacting customers.I hope that you are able to find a gardener that meets with your expectations.
