Its been an amazing start to my fitness journey and i feel is helping my hip and shoulder which have trouble.All coaches have been so brilliant with adjusting with my bad hip and shoulder. Any issues or any exercise that irriates the hip especially they are on it very quickly and alternate the routines for me. I wasnt as confident when i 1st walked in but seeing how brill the coaches are and all the people attend has helped me to gain that bit more confidence.for some 1 who hasn't even attempted gym let alone bootcamp i must say i am enjoying every moment and most definitley 100% can see improvements. its so good to see the inches come away from all places that give me 0 confidence. As a busy household with kids and both of us working, finding time to do proper exercise was limited to the odd jog on the treadmill. I struggled to keep motivated and hated the idea of joining a gym. When you know you're unfit and have wobbly bits, the last thing you want is to walk into a room full of super fit people. I expected bootcamp to be more inviting as it came recommended and I figured anyone there needing that kick up the bum to do more, like I did. What I didn't expect was to enjoy getting through a hardcore session, feel great afterwards and then come back for more every week! I didnt want to miss out and go back to being so unfit that we even did the sessions on holiday! We have now signed up monthly, follow the meal plans and genuinely feel so much better in many ways. You'll be surprised at how excited you get when your arms tone, you can lose inches and not necessarily weight. That has been a big deal for me. I don't care what the scales say now, they don't determine how positive I feel and I now base my progress on other goals being achieved. When you set your mind to it, attending at least 3 times a week is doable. We sometimes get a babysitter, leave work on time and make sure we don't miss a workout. In committing we have stopped grabbing a takeaway or meal out and actually saved money! Everyone is lovely, welcoming and we come in all shapes and sizes on our own personal journeys. More...

I joined the bodyfix bootcamp programme with my wife not really knowing what to expect. I thought I had a reasonable level of fitness through running, but this programme has given me a new level of motivation, which I didn't think was possible as it focusses on everything but weight loss. In the two months I have been doing the programme I have lost the obsession with weight loss being a driver and focussed more on the body shape changes. I feel fantastic and it's all down to the brilliant coaches who take the sessions and provide the extra motivation to progress to the next level without realising the progression. A big thank you goes out to Henry, Craig, Josh and Bryan who I have had the pleasure of them taking / organising the sessions so far, the effort they put in with the little bits of attention to detail that you wouldn't normally notice goes a long way. The meal plans they have shared are also a great way to improve your diet as well, it has made a big difference from an energy levels point of view for both of us and has got rid of the myths of what is perceived to be good and bad for you, which some diet programmes promote. Finally, what also makes the bootcamp programme is the people who are on the sessions with you, everyone is supportive and committed, which gives you the motivation to achieve and exceed your goals, it feels like I am part of a bootcamp family now. Body Fix is an amazing place! They take completely unfit clients and change them into mean lean body machines! I had no interest in gyms, fitness or any form of exercise. Well what can I say. BodyFix training and staff helped me out of a major rut in my life I was 14'7 stone and climbing, motivation had gone until we stumbled across this little gem! The staff are so welcoming and made to feel at ease not matter your type of fitness! Within 6 months my weight went from 14'7 to 12'8!!!! You are pushed to achieve the best you can within your own capabilities and all exercises can be scaled so if you have injuries or difficulties with certain things, you don't miss out on getting a good workout. You notice your own improvements and it becomes kind of addictive. The trainers are awesome and friendly, but know how to push you when you need it and always encourage you to do your best. Other members are fun and very friendly, and everyone is extremely supportive of everyone. I was nervous about signing up at the start I didn't know anyone & wasn't sure what to expect. But the instructors Craig & Henry have been great. They are helpful & supportive but push you when you need to. They seem to know each individuals capabilities & can tailor the exercises if needed. I've been going 4 months 3 times a week & I've yet to have a duplicate session! That's brill because if you're not really feeling up for it you have no idea what it will be so its not like you know whats ahead! Those days that I've not felt like going but got myself there I have felt so much better for going! So far I have lost nearly 2 stone & many inches off my waist, bum & legs, I feel so much better about myself! I'm still a work in progress & would like to lose more but this works along with healthy eating I am both physically & psychologically in a better place than I was 4 months ago! I started exercising in March 2017 after stopping drinking to give me a focus to keep off the booze. After a few months on my own in the gym I decided to go down the personal training route to try to get better results and to help with the motivation I needed to keep going with exercising.
I started personal training with Craig at Bodyfix in July 2017. My body started to change quite quickly as we did a variety of different exercises. No two sessions are ever the same and Craig is always pushing me to work harder and get better results and it’s paid off! I’ve gone from a size 16 to a size 12/14 in 6 months and I feel toned and strong and healthy.
The buzz I was chasing by drinking has been completely replaced by the buzz I get from training hard and lifting heavy weights! Exercising and commitment to my personal training sessions has undoubtedly kept me sober and staying sober has meant I’ve done some things I’ve never thought possible.
This is the difference that 9 months off alcohol and 2 personal training sessions a week can make. I’ve got a new life now and I can’t wait for the challenges I’ve signed up to in 2018, including a triathlon and a marathon.

The only competition is with yourself - the workouts are such that you really can only concentrate on yourself and how you are doing. I always think if anyone looked in the window at 6.30am in Bishopthorpe they would think we were crazy... but I really enjoy it for lots of reasons:- it may be EARLY but there is a great sense of camaraderie and support that is really helpful. You want to do well for yourself but also want others to do well- I looked today and have lost about 11lbs and inches off all over - and importantly kept it off for at least 2 years. - The holistic approach and wider support works and you can take as much - or as little - from it as you need to depending where you are personally at any one time.- I went skiing last year for the first time in 10 years and (as well as still fitting my ski gear) I did the best skiing I have ever done: I was strong as well as fit. - The owner really cares about his clients and his business - and it shows. As someone that was big and not fit at all I was nervous about joining. I didn't think I could do it and was self conscious.
I joined with a work colleague ( for moral support). I was instantly put at ease and had the exercises explained to me along with alternatives if I found them to much to begin with.
There is a good selection of classes so I can always fit one in my busy day. The group is very supportive and welcoming which you don't get in the gym. Craig or Henry are always there to keep me right and give me a push if I need it.
So far I have lost too many inches to keep count and 5 stone. I feel much healthier and most important for me I have more confidence.

I'm thrilled with what I've been able to acheive since starting Personal Training sessions with Craig at BodyFix.
He has given me the confidence to push and challenge myself.
..I wouldn't have dreamed of using the weights I do now if he hadn't made me try. He knew that I could do it even when I didn't believe in myself.
He's had endless patience with my lack of co-ordination, slow up take on technique and random requests of 'Crrrrraiiiiig can I try.....a handstand/deadlift/L-sit/pull-up etc etc' when I've seen something on a fit-pro Instagram account.
My PT has been flexible around my goals and whims but has also followed a clear path towards my ultimate goal of getting stronger.
My PT sessions are hard work but fun and I always leave the gym on an absolute high.

I always feared "training" I was never the most athletically built person, not even in school, I was a chunky kid. I wanted to change, I just kept losing my drive.
I started in a gym which made me feel self-conscious so I stopped.
Found the studio with Craig and he helped me gain my confidence to change and he showed me I could do things but I just needed a little motivation and a couple of tweaks in the right places.
Easy to say doing these sessions with Craig has increased my confidence in myself and I've achieved so much with him by my side which I couldn't have done without his help.
I now walk in, driven, motivated and ready to train.
I love it and it really has changed me, I feel better as a person and feel more alive!
I increase my personal best in certain exercises like deadlifts and bench press, I beat my records weekly and the buzz I receive from that is one of the most satisfying things I have ever had.

What do you love most about your job?
As cliched as this sounds I love the excitement on a clients face when they achieve, either a personal target such as inch loss or lifting a particular weight that they couldn't achieve before! Our team is proud of the part we play in our clients journeys!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business to help as many peoples possible achieve fantastic results through a tried and tested formula.
Having worked in the fitness industry since 2001 I was tired of seeing people join a gym but then stop attending and falling by the wayside!
its this very point that sets Body Fix Transformation Centre apart from anything else in the York area!
