Hello, I'd like to welcome you to my page. My name is Carrie,I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP),

We all have times in life when we find it hard to cope, and our lives can seem very overwhelming.

There are many people who choose therapy when they are experiencing an upheaval or difficult, upsetting time in their lives.

You may be feeling depressed, anxious, or dissatisfied with life in some way - and even if you have the support of a family member or friend, It can be sometimes difficult to communicate to those closest to you about how you are feeling.

Sometimes it is easier to talk to somebody who is separate from your every day life, who can listen without judgement and offer you the support and guidance you need.

This is when talking to a Psychodynamic Counsellor can help.

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on both the past and present. The psychodynamic approach looks at how important the role of the unconscious and past experiences is on influencing our current behaviour.

As a counsellor I aim to provide a supportive, safe, strictly confidential and non-judgmental space for you to explore and make sense of your thoughts and emotions from your individual perspective.

Therapy can not erase a difficult past but it can give you the tools to equip you to move on more easily, it can increase your resilience, and it can enable you to make positive changes in your every day life.

Research shows Freud's 'Talking Cure' helps to alleviate all sorts of difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, life crisis, trauma, eating disorders, self harm and relationship issues. If you are at a point in your life where you are motivated to seek change, there is every reason to believe that therapy can help you

You are welcome to make an appointment at either of my two practices - in Coulsdon or in the village of Warlingham both locations are easily accessible by both public transport and by car.
