I had never had pie, mash and liquor but i heard good things about Bob Burns and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Great food and great service and I’ll definitely be back, especially as the weather gets colder it’s the perfect takeaway

What’s your signature dish?
Traditional Pie (minced beef) or vegan, mash and liquor (or gravy).
The mash and liquor are also vegan.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
For those cockneys and those of east end heritage there’s only one dish ti serve traditional pie mash and eels!
What do you love most about your job?
I Love meeting new people and seeing them satisfied with the grub whilst keeping the old east end culture alive.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My grandad was from the East End (Poplar) and worked as a stevedore on the Royal Albert Dock. I had a special relationship with my grandad, which led me to love the food he did such as Pie, Mash and Eels. This made me want to open this business in his name, reminding me of all those happy times and treasured moments with him.

Because we have a stylish converted horse box serving hearty comforting food which is hugely popular around essex, Kent and london
