Just completed a 5 week block of training with our 1 year old rescue dog. My dog loves the sessions and we have learnt so much already and his recall has improved considerably. Jo & Jonny take time at the start of each session to hear how things are going and, give invaluable advice and tips relating to any challenges highlighted. My dog and I have been attending an outdoor class environment, on a rolling basis with Jo and Jonny, for 11 weeks. My dog gets easily over stimulated by other dogs moving about. Thanks to the thoughtful process that was set in place from the first class, he has now been able to share space with another dog in the class. Both my dog and I are treated as individuals, so there is always an alternative work around for whichever behaviour is being taught. So refreshing to have instructors who aren’t focused on “obedience”, but on developing the dog and owner’s skills using positive reward based methods. Jo and Jonny are knowledgeable, good at explaining each exercise, good at giving time to everyone in the class (small class numbers really help) and are thoroughly nice people. I feel very lucky to have been pointed towards Blue Box Training, by someone who knew my force free ethos would gel with theirs. My dog has benefited enormously from his time at the class, and I will continue to book us in for future classes. More...

Jo & Jonny are fantastic trainers to my boy Buddy (Buddy nuisance when we started, hoping to drop the ‘nuisance’ soon 😁). He is a large lab who has pulled me on my face a few times, even on his first night at training 🙈 . Jo & Jonny are so professional and patient in helping me gain confidence & understanding of what to be aware of, how he’s thinking and how to distract him when he sees other dogs and wants to drag me over to ‘say hello’ to them which has made Buddy a more pleasurable boy to walk. His loose lead walking, sit, stay, this way, down, look, middle, touch etc are all now fun to him. Buddy and myself are honestly having so much fun whilst learning about each other at the same time that we came back for a 2nd block. Jo is professional, reliable and trustworthy. Lexie can be an anxious dog but Jo is skilled at meeting her needs and Lexie looks for Jo everyday for her walk. Jo went over and above when Lexie took unwell when staying with relatives when we were on holiday and took her to the vet in her own time. I would highly recommend Jo and so would Lexie. More...

Puppy Classes & Dog Training Classes
Puppy Classes
We offer small group, indoor 45 minute sessions, one session per week, for five weeks at a cost of £95.
A fun and informative course, giving your pup a great foundation in life skills and how to apply these skills from class into your real life situations. All the basics are covered in this 5 week course, including focus, sit, stay, loose-lead walking and recall. We will also discuss methods to deal with those challenging puppy stages of play biting, chewing, jumping up, toilet training and sleeping. These classes are a great opportunity for your pup to learn in a rewarding way, as well as socialising with other dogs and people. On completion of this course, your pup can then further progress onto our dog training level classes.
Dog Training Levels 1, 2 & 3.
We offer small group, indoor 45 minute sessions, one session per week, for five weeks at a cost of £95.
Our Level 1 classes focus on teaching you how to train those all important foundation skills. covering key behaviours, focus, recall, down, beginner waits and stays, stop, leave, loose lead walking, heal work and much more. We incorporate utilising the 3 D’s, Distance, Duration & Distraction to take it to the next level. Using positive reinforcement creates a fun rewarding way for your dog to learn and strengthen the relationship you have with your dog. Once you have completed our level one block, there will be an option to progress through the levels.
