We happened to be in The Bluebell today for the first day of their new menu. I'm a massive fan of tapas but there was never really much I fancied on the previous menu, this menu is spot on!
The croquette was beautiful, a different combination of ham and jalapeño which works really well. The squid was my favourite, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly.
The kids shared a pizza which they demolished so they were very pleased!
The onion rings are absolutely massive and everyone enjoyed their food.
The service was brilliant, everyone was very friendly and I'm looking forward to going back and sampling some more of the menu! More...

went in on Saturday tea time to be asked if we'd booked a table, if not we would have to sit outside in February if we wanted a drink, the pub was half empty, plenty of free tables obviously not a pub anymore if you have to book a table for a drink, more of a restaurant.

I use to work here would not recommend it the food I would not give to my dogs cheap products nasty meat full of water and other nasty stuff from Thailand or Africa! the owner selling it top price what happened to local products from Yorkshire!sorry the burgers charge very good money for to customers I tell you now they pay 50p a burger probably rat burger what chef court in log room next to kitchen I seen that head chef walking though kitchen with a big old long tail like it was normal every day thing !ive been a chef for 15 years seen some stuff but this place wow !!!stock rotation nar chefs put new on old so it’s going off fast but they don’t bin it sell it to pontefract manger says don’t bin smelly chicken because owner go mad GP that’s all I heard GP!Tony are you stuck 1980 with that nonsense if your menu done right you profit!!not nice to staff mangers treat them bad !!worse place I’ve seen it last but not least jambalaya you paying good money for you want fresh rice not expensive to make not bluebell uncle Ben rice spicy Mexican that tells me people in kitchen should not be in there basics cooking!!!weres chef passion gone or to busy trying to get one over other than focus on customers and doing nice food jokes I’ve got some pics and videos of all three pubs what A J Inns own leave it down to food stands now !!!!!I got really bad with my health they finished me for it and not payed me what’s belongs to me bye rights so my family didn’t have a Xmas because of AJInns I got sick not to people if you want a better meal than this place go to St Gorges crypt Leeds fresher and nicer!! Great, friendly service, lovely food. We have been a few times and the chef is always consulted about dietary requirements when asked, with no huffing and puffing you get in some establishments. Absolutely unbelievably so upset and fuming - we work at the hospital and booked the function room in September, I went in and paid £50 deposit - even though I’ve been messaging all this week to confirm this and have proof of the messages we arrived at 7pm our booking time to say that we have never confirmed this and told that we don’t have a booking - to say that the hospitality trade need us I’ve never come across such a vile and rude man - on the day of paying the £50 deposit you came across rude but I went past this due to seeing good reviews of the food - you have made me look a fool and embarrassed in front of my work colleagues - when I go to work on Monday and get the receipt to show payment and I contact trading standards as this is theft - no wonder your staff look so unhappy in their jobs .

me and my friend visited today 16th of December for the first time absolutely beautiful little pub bar staff was lovely, but the food i wouldn't recommend the size portion to say it was a sharing platter we got was really small and the pudding was burnt and was not impressed and will not attend again sorry x

Don’t use the delivery service. Ordered £50 of tapas and wasn’t delivered. Apparently my address pin isn’t correct. Funny how every other restaurant I have ordered with via deliveroo has been able to find it

ordered food & then told we couldn’t have it as we’d not booked & they were really short staffed ! went for my partners 50th last night. I can highly recommend the food it was lovely and everyone in the party really enjoyed it. Even though we live in Pontefract we've never been to the Bluebell for a meal, tonight our friends from Essex stopped off on their way in holiday so we brought them along. me and my friends came in Sunday for a meal not long after we had been there a man was swearing and shouting at a woman and had her in tears he was very abusive and was drawing attention to himself the staff where absolutely brilliant they apologised to us and quietly asked the man to settle down to which this made him worse these young ladies that where working where a pleasure I will definitely return as they where so attentive to us and polite.

Called in for a quiet pint on a Sunday night... what would have been a lovely night was definitely spoiled by an absolutely obnoxious customer shouting and swearing at the top of his voice who even had his partner in tears at various points. I have to say the bar staff handled it brilliantly though, the young lady was far more polite than I would have been when asking him to firstly tone down his behaviour and then finally asking him to leave when he wouldn't. Impeccable behaviour under pressure and certainly a credit to any pub!! Will be back! More...

8 of us came for bottomless brunch on Saturday, the food, drinks & service were great. We really enjoyed our meals, the seafood pasta was beautiful, the pizzas were huge and very tasty & our prosecco glasses were kept topped up. Had a Table booked for 7 and turned up promptly and were shown to our table and left with no menus or drinks for over 20 minutes and when we asked the Waitress for drinks and a menu we were told she could only serve 1 table at a time and then we had 2 menus literally thrown at us ! ! Amazing staff. Duty manager Kerry was was lovely and friendly, the new lady who has started working there today Terry was incredibly sweet and really bubbly and likeable. Evie has also served us a few times and is always professional and welcoming. A member who really stands out in particular is Casper, I havent met a better server. They're so attentive and always make you feel welcome when you arrive and cant seem to do enough for you.

All the food I've had here has been fantastic. I've even had one staff member (whos name i didn't catch) make adaptations to a pizza for me. I would definitely recommend the chilli and cajun cauliflour pizza!

Drinks always arrive quickly and they always taste great! One of our favourite places to come for food or a drink! More...
