We hired Blackjack Discos for our wedding in October 2016 and they were fabulous. The booking process was straightforward, they were helpful and a pleasure to deal with when making all the arrangements and the jukebox selection was both easy and fun. On the night our DJ was on time and set up with the minimum of fuss. More importantly, he was friendly, enthusiastic and willing to do or play whatever we and our guests wanted. He judged the crowd perfectly and supplemented our own song picks with some fine choices of his own. People were dancing the whole time, from those aged 2 to 92. What do you love most about your job?
There are lots of elements I love, especially in Entertainment. I always am interested to hear people's stories, and getting to know more about them. As an Entertainment Business, there is always room to grow & expand, and that drives me to do what I do. However, I absolutely love hearing from Acts that want to work with us. It's always is so exciting when we get submissions in, and getting to listen to different styles of Music!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I studied at Music Practise at College, and then completed my degree in Commercial Music & Performance in 2008 from Canterbury Christ Church University. From that point, I refused to enter into any other field, and I'm proud to say I've made a living out of performing arts since then.
I'm a musician, and over the last 10 years have made my living from being a professional vocalist in the UK and Abroad, production specialist, voice over work, an agent, and freelance teaching. I know what it's like to be the musician working at an event, and the agent on the other side.
Working in Entertainment takes work, dedication and drive. When you run an Entertainment Business, you need to be compliant in order to support your clients & acts.

*Compile your own playlist. We are the only disco company with a bespoke online music library available to all customers – with more than 30,000 tracks.
We offer our unique wireless mood lighting system, Venue Paint, available exclusively to us in the UK.
We also hire Photo Booths, Pyrotechnics, Radio Mics and mist machines.
Wedding Discos
When you book Blackjack you get a Blackjack DJ, not an agency DJ. We employ our own in-house team of 6 specialist and dedicated DJ’s, ranging from 30 to 45 years of age. All our DJ’s are trained, insured and uniformed by our company. We supply a maximum of 4 discos on any one day, leaving 2 of our DJ’s available as back up.
We only use our own DJ's to offer you a reliable and high quality service. We promise you the following:
DJ's who will...
Perform dressed in our company uniform comprising black shirt with collar, black trousers & black shoes
Arrive, in good time, on the day
Liaise directly with your venue to ensure a smooth set up
Deal with problems without any fuss
Conduct themselves in a polite, friendly & professional manner
Offer realistic and honest advice (should a problem arise)
Not turn up with their girlfriend, mum, dad or next door neighbour
Not use foul language, racist language or display poor humour
Be friendly to guests of all ages, race, religion or sex
Be friendly, open and approachable to you and your guests
Help break the ice and make you feel at ease, but not bully people into dancing
Not repeatedly talk all over the music and spoil the songs
Read the dance floor and adopt the music style and taste to suit
Do everything they can to make your night special and successful
