I've been having guitar lessons fortnightly with Ben for a few months now and he's a fantastic teacher. When I started I felt I was reasonably competent at playing chords and a few solo bits but wanted to improve on soloing and everything overall, and I've really seen an improvement in my abilities since having lessons with him. His lessons are nicely relaxed where we cover what I'd like if there is anything in particular I'd like help with or we go over different techniques which can be used and Ben thinks would help me, which really have helped to give me ideas what I can do to improve. I can tell he is really knowledgeable, giving me tips on more technical things to do with guitar like recording and using a digital interface and adding other instruments to build a song idea, and in general giving tips which could improve my playing or make things easier. I'd definitely recommend Ben as a guitar teacher and I really enjoy my lessons with him because he makes them fun. More...

I would recommend Ben to anyone who wants to learn guitar in a fun and liberal way. Ben has helped me go from struggling to play basic chords to playing some of my favourite rock songs in less than 6 months. He is always very patient when I’m learning a new part of a song even if it seems like it’s taking a while for me to get it. Plus, if I’m struggling he will always think of a way to teach the music from a slightly different angle. Also, he is very encouraging and helpful. Especially if I have learnt a song outside of lessons but wasn’t quite sure about something I feel very comfortable asking him for help. Not to mention he’s very friendly and easy to talk to. Ben has been teaching piano to my 6 yr old daughter for the past 9 months, and guitar to me for the past 6 months. He is an exceptional teacher. He is patient, kind, encouraging and seems equally comfortable teaching adults and children, on both piano and guitar. Ben quickly got a sense of what music would motivate us, and has approached our sessions with a flexible, fun attitude rather than the more rigid/formal/traditional approach that I remember put me off music when I was a kid. I had exhausted playing online tabs for many years before finally getting stuck in a rut with my guitar playing. After several years with my guitar gathering dust I decided to pick things up again, and also finally take on more theory and improvisation. I contacted Ben several months ago and we started lessons. Since the beginning Ben has tailored each lesson based on what we had discussed and I'm now finally on the way to playing in a way I had originally imagined. It was also my first experience taking guitar lessons online, but it's turned out to be a time-saver as I'm able to jump on a call straight after work and get straight into things. I've found that the technical aspects of remote lessons don't really get in the way of learning (like you think they might). Thanks Ben! Now I need to cram some practice in... it's been a busy week! Haven’t been with Ben for very long but so far he’s been great, he’s patient and definitely knows what he’s doing he’s also flexible when it comes to choosing your lessons definitely recommend
