Useless. Never actually managed to come and fix the problem after the best part of two weeks. Contacted another provider
and problem sorted within 45 mins. Even worse they were absolutely useless at communicating; did not answer messages/texts/phone calls, broke appointments without explanation and acted as if nothing were wrong. I would never call on them again and would advise anybody else to avoid them. I have never left a review like this before and feel bad for the mechanic who recommended them to me; I have let him know of their failures as well. Avoid!

I wrote a review a few weeks ago but it seems to have disappeared so I’ll write it again. After Grant changed my lock the steering wheel strangely rubbed against the casing of the steering column. When I phoned to ask if this problem would ease with time Grant was extremely defensive, very rude and blamed me for having low tyre pressure in my ‘badly maintained’ car. My tyres were fine. He refused to except any responsibility. When I asked a mechanic to have a look he showed me the damage which had been done to the steering retaining bolt. I am considering Small Claims Court. Grant was busy but still came to sort out what turned out to be a complicated job! He persisted in getting it sorted and made the stress of dropping my key in the drain a lot easier in the end! I licked my key inside by accident. Googled so many locksmiths in Sussex. But though every one advertised 24 hour service but they did not answer to calls.
Until I found Bayleys. Excellent, rapid and curtious staff. My problem was solved in exactly 1 hour.

After the steering lock stuck on my horse lorry and I was stranded i called Grant at Bayleys Vehicle Locksmiths and he advised me of what the problem maybe and booked me in. Grant was on time, professional, friendly and very experienced replacing my key barrel and providing s new key. As a lone woman with a vehicle i felt at ease and informed at all times and the payment by credit card was quick and simple. My invoice was emailed to me before i drove away! I took my car to the garage as was having problems turning my key in the ignition, they called Grant to take a look and luckily he was in the Lewes area at the time, so was able to fix the problem immediately for much less than what the garage would have charged (the garage told me this). Grant also noticed my key was a bit broken so glued it back together so I wouldn't lose the immobilizer chip on the inside which can be expensive to replace. Grant then drove to my place of work so I could make payment. I was so thankful as my car is quite old and had thought I may have to scrap it if it was going to be too expensive....so thanks to Grant my car lives on another day!!! More...
