We asked Richard to help with our sons maths revision running up to his GCSE’s. Richard was brilliant and worked with him on homework and test papers etc. He then worked on other subjects, helping him revise for biology, chemistry, physics and geography. He has a really patient and calm approach. My only regret is that we didn’t ask Richard to work with our son much sooner than we did. What do you love most about your job?
I love the light-bulb moment when the pupil finally understands something that they have been struggling with.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’m a qualified teacher, and really enjoy teaching, but working in a school is all to much about behaviour management and paperwork.
Private tuition allows me to focus on teaching my pupils, ensuring that they have improved understanding of the topics and how to answer exam-style questions.

I have of 25 years’ experience in IT related roles in a variety of employer sectors. My roles have encompassed the full development (Programming, Design, Analysis), deployment (Testing, Release) and support (Issue/Problem Management) life cycles. I am experienced in PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL Service Management and Risk Management and the use of these frameworks in a pragmatic way to support the delivery of business objectives and improvements.
