I am a qualified Primary School teacher with a specialisation in SEN. I received training in both SEN provisions and Mainstream provisions, which has resulted in an extensive knowledge and understanding of diverse needs and access to a variety of teaching strategies to suit my pupils.

My first priority with all new pupils is to establish a positive relationship with them based on trust and understanding. I actively listen to them and collaboratively identify their learning styles and the challenges they are facing. Following this, I conduct a baseline assessment to identify any academic gaps and plan my lessons accordingly. Every lesson includes a review of prior learning, introducing new material in small steps, incorporating questioning, and informal assessments (quizzes).
At the end of a block of lessons, a final assessment will be conducted, and any gaps in learning will be revisited.
All my lessons are designed to be enjoyable and engaging, as this is fundamental to achieving successful learning outcomes!
