What do you love most about your job?
Helping clients know they have looked at everything that could impact them and their families and for them to then make an informed choice as to what they do. It is a great priviledge when clients place their trust in us and is not something we take lightly. It is lovely when we know that the plans we have put in place have safeguarded a spouse and/or children's future. It is also amazing when we can do something about the large inheritance tax bill that many households have to pay or sometimes it is just a matter of reassuring people that all is in order and that helps them sleep easy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We have spent many years working for large banks and organisations. Whilst it gave us great training and skills, it was a very pressurised environment where certain sales figures had to be met. We never got along with the approach that we had to make a sale, for us it was about helping the client and if it was right for them. We decided a few years ago that we would set up our own business so that we would be in control and not have to please others with reaching sales targets. We have spent many years gaining technical and practical experience and now feel capable of bringing this to clients under our own business.
Why should our clients choose you?
Our motto is:
If our advise wouldn't be good enough for our own family then why would we offer it to anyone else?
This is very important. Always know when to walk away from business if there is any hint that it may not be best for the client, even if the client insists. We hope from this that potential clients know they are dealing with someone who has integrity, who genuinely cares about their clients and who never puts business ahead of the needs of the client.
Lastly, we are extremely qualified in technical areas such as trusts and certain tax planning. This means that when we advise we can give a very detailed view of the clients circumstances and help them consider areas that may not have been brought to their attention. All of this is done as part of our service with no pressure at all on the client. I believe this makes us unique and offers excellent value to the client.
