Get the brief from the client. Make a site visit to assess the size, proximity, and suitability of the garage to the client's brief. Give the client some design ideas and advise on how the concept will comply with the Planning regulations. If all comply then make a fee proposal once that is agreed. Survey the property (including garage), make proposals to the client, once agreed to proceed to make planning drawings and submit to the LPA.

The minimum height of 2.20 meters to the underside of the ridge will determine the suitability of the loft for conversion. The loft conversion is under Permitted Development

• 40 cubic metres for terraced houses.
• 50 cubic metres for detached and semi-detached houses
