Hi Andy,Thank you. A few years ago I suffered a serious accident permanently damaging my spinal chord. That on top of heart failure has left me unable to work. I don't complain about this as I have a wonderful son (who is quite the talented drummer) and besides things could have turned out so much worse personally. But I wanted to give you this background to let you know how inspirational I have found your teaching and methods. I'd never so much as picked up a guitar before watching your beginner course (I sang vocals and played violin years ago) but after watching that first course took the plunge and bought a guitar. I think I am progressing reasonably well BUT most of all I am having a blast learning from you. Please keep up your work as I am sure there are many people in my position or worse off who without your generosity would never have played music or had so much fun. I do intend to keep up the practice and have gone over the beginners course several times now. And when I think I'm ready will definitely download more of your lessons and carry on with the fun. Hi Folks. I had a face to face lesson with Andy years ago, I drove to Leeds & sat amongst the Union Jacks & backdrop of albums. I was having 1-to-1 lessons elsewhere at the time, but just wasn't getting anywhere, so wanted to see the man I was following online in person. In an hour and a half I progressed more than in months of other private tuition. Since then I have changed guitar teachers, I now let Andy teach me with his courses. You get playing something you know straight away & his system keeps you improving & motivated. I'm sold on his courses, or rather I've bought them all on DVD. At less than the typical cost of a half hour lesson, you cannot go wrong! Anyone who has tried guitar will tell you the biggest barrier is changing chords fast enough. Andy starts us with A, D & E, which have a common finger, then pushes to four finger G & Cadd9 to train our fingers & uses real songs albeit simplified at times to keep us progressing. If you want to get going fast, get the electric guitar courses, but the beginner course is key too. Or just get them all & have plenty to keep you busy. I’ve picked up a guitar for the first time in about three decades.

I began a starters course in my twenties, but the guitar teacher was, well frankly just woeful. Some people should never teach. It put me off for quite some time, because I figured I just wasn’t smart enough to “get it”.

I’m now in my third week of studying your lessons. They have been so delightfully helpful, I’ve taken the plunge and placed an order for the beginner courses.

I now thoroughly look forward to my guitar practice because of your friendly and remarkably clear teaching. You have given this old chap a new lease on his musical life.

I have always wanted to play guitar, I decided in 2016 around mid October to start learning. It is this month that im starting to change chords, is that normally how long it can take I have to say I have been picking up the guitar more often lately , but still cannot play barre chords. Hi Andy, thanks for posting your brilliant course on the t'internet. I've owned an acoustic guitar for about 20 years and tried and failed on several occasions to learn how to play it. This year my 8 year old daughter has started to learn the guitar at school and i said i'd learn with her. I found your course on you tube and within a couple of weeks I'm now playing some songs...... chasing cars, i can't explain, love me do, sweet Caroline and I've got a feelin. I put down my guitar 35 years ago. My husband surprised me with a new Acoustic Guitar hoping I would pick it up again. I taught myself how to play when I was a kid. Since I felt I was starting all over again with my new guitar, I thought I'd take advantage of the online resources for taking actual lessons. Came across Andy's site and absolutely love it. It's wonderfully straight forward. Andy's a very easy instructor to listen to and to follow. You actually look forward to the next lesson. I think you should warn beginning students. The first 50 acoustic guitar songs to play by hal*Leonard are really hard. The average chords are 20 by eaxh song not THREE! Nothing really sounds good with three easy chords. I mean these song chords are like D/F# and D7 9th/A and E5*, D5 , E5. Andy tell them reality is not just pressure like the Dentist...it hurts!
