We very much adhere to a collaborative and friendly design process with our interior design clients. It is their home, their business and we aim to achieve their vision and expectations by utilising our years of expertise, our product knowledge and creativity to produce designs that not only fit the brief, but exceed them. We start with a thorough discussion and site visit to ensure we know the full scope of the project. Our process is then determined by the clients' requirements and we strive to be as flexible as possible and can offer options from styling-only to a full design service, liaising with architects, contractors and project managers to ensure a smooth development and installation process. Once we know more about the project, we discuss the best way forward for each client - reports, floor plans, mood boards, elevations and CGI's are all available options to enable clients to visualise the project as a whole before they commit to each and every element.

It would be incredibly boring if we all had the same style! We all have our own individual likes and dislikes, and here at Amy Nicholas our team is as diverse as they come - yet we each have an inherent appreciation of all things interior and love the challenge of creating designs from traditional to contemporary and everywhere in between! From bold and colourful wallpaper prints to subtle and elegant linens we design spaces tailored to any requirements. We have access to a broad range of suppliers and designers and can source anything from quirky lighting to timeless seating ideas. We're great advocates of using statement pieces to really elevate a design, and know where to spend that little bit more to achieve that high end quality look that our clients want.

Working as a dynamic team is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Our individual talents complement each other and help us provide a friendly, professional and comprehensive service to our customers. The necessity to surround myself with beautiful fabrics and wallpapers as well as stunningly crafted furniture and accessories on a daily basis is an utter joy which I do not take for granted. For someone who loves "anything pretty" this is a dream of a profession.

Working in the home cinema industry, I found myself increasingly drawn to the interiors side of each project and revelled in the opportunity to source fabrics and furniture to enhance the space for the client. With this realisation, I took the leap and opened my own interior design business back in 2005, first as a retail shop and now as a dedicated design studio in Lancashire's Ribble Valley, catering to residential and commercial clients around the UK and overseas.

Friendly, flexible and with a multitude of design ideas, Amy Nicholas offers a collaborative design process which takes the stress away from our clients, saving them precious time and money. Our wealth of knowledge allows us to get the most out of a clients budget - knowing where to spend more to maximise the look of the scheme as well as using our wide range of trade contacts, can actually save you money, not least by ensuring that there are no costly ill advised purchases made. We take care to get to really know your project from the outset - listening to the client's vision for the space, it's purpose and how the client wants to feel when the job is complete - knowledge is key to creating the ideal scheme for each individual project. Every item is meticulously chosen to complement each other, from furniture to light switches, ultimately resulting in a polished and professional finish that fits and exceeds the client's brief.

Yes, with clients throughout the UK and abroad, we have adapted to be able to offer remote services. From initial Zoom meetings to sending floorpans, elevations and CGI's via email, we can accommodate clients who are too far away to visit or who prefer a hands-off service. Once we have created mood boards or floor plans, we can send these out with sample boxes which include any fabrics, wallpapers or paints etc in the scheme, so a client can see how they look in their homes. We are happy to speak with all clients about their requirements and can tailor how we work to their needs.

Luckily no Covid restrictions are now in place, but we are mindful of anybody who may still feel vulnerable and want extra protection. We offer zoom meetings to start with, and can manage various stages remotely. Ourselves and any of our regular contractors would happily attend site with PPE, where appropriate, so that all of our clients feel comfortable.
