Amy has been teaching my children piano since 2018 and they started when they were 9 and 7. We switched from in person to online lessons in 2020 and the benefit they’ve had from the online sessions has been as good as in person lessons and both have excelled in and progressed through their Trinity grades. Amy has a wonderful relationship with them and genuinely is interested in their lives which helps develop a collaborative approach to their sessions as they feel they are working with a friend. Amy is a talented musician and teacher and is very encouraging, positive and an excellent communicator. We hope Amy will continue to teach them for years to come and I cannot recommend her highly enough. More...

My children have been learning piano with Amy for 5 years now and they started off as beginners. Amy ensured that all the necessary books and equipment was purchased at an affordable rate and she advised us on getting a new piano for our children. Lessons were offered remotely through lockdown and lessons were adaptable to fit the circumstances.
Amy is so kind and understanding and also offers a lot of flexibility to suit our needs. She is extremely professional and always ensures that clear instructions are left for homework’s, with good communication to us as the parents and she even sends us help videos so that we understand what specifically needs to be practiced.
I would thoroughly recommend Amy to anyone who wishes to learn music.
Each grade our children have done have been a really excellent grade at a top merit or distinction.
We are super proud of what our children have achieved and we look forward to seeing what they learn with Amy in the future.
Thanks so much 👍

Services

I currently have 15 years in teaching music both inside the classroom and at home 1:1. I teach piano, violin and viola to Grade 6/7 standard using ABRSM and Trinity examination boards.

I studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire where I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music with honours.
I then went on to study for my teacher training and qualified with a PGCE in Music education in 2011 from Reading University.

I always strive to make my lessons really engaging and enjoyable, as well as ensuring that students make progress each lesson with realistic practice targets before the next lesson.
I always ensure that students are given help videos with their practice if this should be required and this is done with no extra cost.

I have much experience working with students of all backgrounds and learning abilities and have a great deal of experience working with SEND students.
I also teach rather a lot of adults so age is no barrier and it’s never too late to learn an instrument.

I can be flexible as I have my own young child, and am willing to fit lessons around existing commitments from both ends and be flexible on times.

I offer online as well as in person lessons.
I hope to hear from you soon,

Many thanks

My first study instrument is Viola but I have a wealth of experience both performing and teaching violin too.
I studied with Robin Ireland at the Birmingham Conservatoire on Viola for 4 years and alongside this I studied my piano and violin.

I can teach violin and viola lessons from beginner up to Grade 8 standard. I will always strive to ensure that the lessons are fun, accessible and that students fully understand how to progress.

I can deliver Music theory tuition online or in person lessons and I can take you confidently up to the standard you require. Grade 5 theory preparations and past papers can be marked and we will learn each element of the course step by step to make sure understanding and progress is made.

I have a wealth of experience teaching Grade 5 theory having been a leader of a Music department in a grammar school, as well as teaching Grade 5 theory lessons for 10+ years.

I have worked in leading music departments across Berkshire, Hammersmith and Surrey since 2010 and have been a previous head of Music and Head of Performing arts.
In this time I specialised in teaching GCSE and A level Music - particularly composition.

If you need a tutor to help you with the confidence to get the best grade possible at A level or GCSE Music then please get in touch and we can schedule 1:1 online or in person sessions.

I have worked as a Head of Performing Arts and Head of Music in a top Grammar School and specialised in teaching GCSE and A level Music.
