About

Hello. I have been teaching in Abergavenny for 30 years. I teach children from the age of 5 upwards and I also cater for mature students. Lessons are tailored to each individual so I teach complete beginners as well as those who are wishing to take up playing the piano again after having had a break, however long that may be.

Q&As

I enjoy teaching because it is very satisfying to see my students progress through their learning and watch them achieve their goals.

I have been playing the piano since I was seven years of age. I have always enjoyed it and when I was twenty one I came up with the idea of becoming a teacher so that I could carry on using my knowledge and skills through my work.

I have 30 years experience in helping many different people learn to play the piano. I have both practical and theory qualifications so I am therefore confident in teaching up to grade 8 level and beyond. Lessons are pleasant and relaxing and I work at your pace to help you reach your goals.

I am able to do online lessons. Prior to starting we would have to set up the cameras so it is possible for me to get a full view of your keyboard.

At the start and end of each lesson my keyboard is wiped with a sanitizer. Alcohol gel is also available for students to use if they wish.

Services

I teach adults and children from the age of five upwards. Whether you are a complete beginner or wanting to restart playing again, lessons will be tailored to suit you.
Examinations are optional. Each lesson you will slowly build skills so that you can read music and therefore be able to transfer your knowledge to the piano. Theory, scales, aural and sight reading will be incorporated into the lessons so that you will be sure to have a full understanding of music. Most importantly though is to enjoy your learning journey and be proud of what you achieve.
