What do you love most about your job?
My passion is in contributing to the success of a business; being able to look at how it's growing, what its achieving, and how it impacts the lives of those involved and know that I was a part of it.
My mission is simple: to make business growth as easy and accessible as possible for small-medium sized businesses.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I'd spent years working with businesses; working with their sales and marketing departments to improve their performance, building new strategies to maximise the value of customers and working with internal teams to improve how efficiently they managed their workload.
I then took on a few businesses of my own by buying struggling businesses, overhauling them and selling them on. This was difficult. Very, very difficult.
After my first daughter was born, I realised that I no longer wanted to buy, scale and sell, but that I wanted to be involved with something that made a difference.
All around me, I'd noticed a few key problems with the business landscape.
Firstly, there was barely anything in place to help SMEs. Yes, there are agencies, consultants, investors and various government-run bodies. But these are often NOT what small businesses actually need.
What was lacking was the one major thing which a growing business needs: a strategic thinker. Someone who can provide a competitive edge. Someone who knows what works and what doesn't. Someone who knows how to find and create new opportunities. Someone who can solve problems.
Secondly, the costs involved with growing a business were becoming insane.
Marketing, sales, consulting, advertising, PR, systems, staff (and the cost of employment). Add all of these up and they result in an unachievable cost to most SMEs. Even when a business can afford the costs associated with growth, how would they know that the RIGHT things are being done in the RIGHT way?
A lot of problems, and I had the solution. So I formed ALTIC - a business growth agency.
By the time my second daughter was born, I had formed a large team of hand-selected experts in a wide range of fields, and had helped dozens of clients with hundreds of projects.
