Q&As

What I most love about my work is watching someone who has been struggling find their own way forward, blossom and grow before my eyes: it is an incredibly rewarding experience. Many of us have little experience of being heard in all our confusions, hesitancy, ambiguity without judgement or agenda and yet having our thoughts, feelings and experiencing given exquisite attention by someone without preconceptions, assumptions or planned responses is empowering and liberating. We all deserve that kind of attention coupled with belief in who we are simply as human beings; positive, unconditional regard.

Starting my own business was both a big step and a natural progression from working solely with Agencies. There is flexibility to meet the requirements or desires of clients - time, frequency, cost for example - which cannot always be met within organisations and flexibility for me too fitting around other life commitments, demands and plans: a win-win situation.

My own experience of counselling informs how I am with clients; I know it can be scary, confusing, hard work and difficult. I also know how rewarding, enlightening, empowering and life changing the process can be. My hope is that you find in me a companion for your journey - comforting, supportive, insightful, challenging, someone who is rooting for you knowing you can do it.
I have a Diploma in Counselling Practice and am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychology (BACP) and over the years have had specialist training in the areas of loss (hidden: miscarriage, abortion, affairs) and bereavement; abuse (emotional/psychological, sexual, physical, financial and spiritual); working with our spiritual nature (enhancement of life fulfilment, exploring questions of Life and Death, crises of faith, challenges to our core beliefs and principles); anxiety; depression, relationship difficulties. These are not the sum total of my experience but give you an idea of the areas I work with.
