I first came to Alibi just after it opened and loved it. The drinks were fab and the food was lovely. However since I have not been impressed by the cocktails or the food, literally the worst mojito I have ever had! Yesterday I attended with a friend who had won the competition to try something off the new social menu. It all sounded delicious so I was really looking forward to trying it. I ordered Little Bao Boy with chicken, which I assumed would be two or three bao buns… well, it was one bun, not buns! When it arrived I was shocked, one bao bun stuffed with some shredded veg and very dry shredded chicken (picture included). All I could think was thank god this is free because normally, this one small bao bun containing dry tasteless chicken would cost £8.50! I ordered some loaded fries to try (at my own cost) and went for the beefy brisket. This is a decent sized portion but I was shocked at again how dry the meat was. Usually brisket is in some kind of thick sauce but this wasn’t, it was literally dry shredded brisket put on top of fries and topped with cheese! I couldn’t taste any chilli or crispy onions and the fries were extremely salty. It’s nice they salt them, but it was far too much. I did however eat all of them simply because I was starving after my one small boa bun! I get this is supposed to be like tapas but in my opinion they’ve got it all wrong! The prices are just ridiculous and the menu should state that you get just one so you can decide if you want to waste £8.50 or not. The concept could be great if it wasn’t overpriced. This is just my honest opinion based on my experience last night. They do offer a lot of other things on the menu and their £3 lunch menu sounds amazing so I will be back to try that. This is why I have said I do recommend here because everyone’s experience is different and some maybe willing to pay the prices they charge and I will go back hoping certain things have improved and trying something more worth the money! Wanted to go somewhere different for lunch and remembered seeing the new lunch menu had started a couple of weeks back so thought we would give it a try. So much choice on the menu it was difficult to decide as it all sounded so good and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Came for my birthday afternoon tea would not recommend this at all this was really disappointing in fact It was discussing for what we paid shop bought cakes a few sandwiches which most was salmon which nobody ate the picture they advertise and what you get are very false.

Really disappointed with the afternoon tea when you pay £22 EACH so £66 and then £10 for a 4 year old to only get a small selection that I could of got the whole lot for £20 or less very disappointed with what we received when you could get a two course meal for just under £17 won’t be getting again

For my friends birthday we chose to have Bottomless Brunch. Everyone said they enjoyed the food, I chose to have the buttermilk chicken burger which tasted really nice. The lady who was serving us was lovely, all the staff were. We visited today for afternoon tea for my mums birthday with my daughter who was visiting from Cumbria. We were warmly greeted by Luke and were seated in the grand parlour (Great decor). The food was amazing- fresh sandwiches, light scones and delicious sweet treats. The macarons were great. Our server was friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. These were our 8 cheap, supermarket bought bite size cakes on our Afternoon Tea stand- for 3 people! Also shown is the cooking marg that we got for the scones when we asked for butter because my friend didn’t like the whipped cream provided.
