Ali was incredibly easy to talk to. I came to her wanting to make sense of the problems I was having in my relationship. When I’d speak to friends they were full of opinions, but Ali helped me make sense of how I was feeling and in time work out what I wanted.

I began to feel empowered in saying/knowing what I needed.

I was anxious about the thought of looking at childhood stuff but Ali was patient and I never felt judged. I definitely felt shame about a lot of things that through therapy was able to let go of.

I also liked that we could laugh at times because I felt like I was talking with a person which was something I really needed. It felt like she really cared.

I'm interested in how our minds work, and how life experiences affect our ways of thinking and relating to others. I have had counselling myself and found it to be life-changing, so I'm pleased to be able to help others in the same way.

In our counselling sessions, we can talk about whatever is on your mind right now. I'm interested in your life and relationships in the here and now, and how earlier life events might have impacted on your relationships with others and yourself. I'm caring, calm, empathic and easy to talk to. I work in a client-centred way, aiming to work with you towards positive change and a more satisfying and authentic life. I usually recommend an initial phone conversation to see if we both feel that we could work well together, and then you can decide if I'm the right person for you.

My therapy sessions are provided online and face to face, so I can work with you from wherever you are in the UK. For online sessions, you just need to find a quiet and confidential space to speak during our time together. For in-person sessions I work from the Awareness Centre in Clapham, near Clapham South tube station.

Instead of sitting inside or at a screen, we get out in nature while talking. Connection to the natural world has been proven to benefit our psychological wellbeing.
