I cannot recommend Alexia more highly - I took a very precious dress and complicated dress which had belonged to my mother to be altered for one of my daughters - the quality of the workmanship and instinctive understanding of what I hoped to achieve (much better than I did myself) was outstanding.

I have seen Alexia a few times and I would not trust anyone else with my tailoring, she is the best in the business. I have seen her transform jumpsuits into dresses and make bikinis suddenly flattering. I recently saw Alexia to see if any alterations should be made to two bridesmaid dresses that I wore this Summer - she spent a great deal of time with me to discuss different options and in fact advised that I did not get the dresses tailored and instead advised on a different bra I could wear with the dress and other tips and tricks. There is never any pressure to use her service but she is always a joy to work with and gives you endless time. She was instrumental on advising me on the best wedding dress designers for me. I discovered Alexia through a friend and it's been a gamechanger. Trousers that were the wrong length and languishing in my wardrobe, a vintage dress I bought on a whim that needed reducing by two sizes and many other pieces have rescued by Alexia and her brilliant tailor. Alexia and her team are lovely. If you want a garment to fit you perfectly, bring it here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the seamstresses are expert problem solvers, I trust them implicitly. I had a great experience getting my wedding dress altered (fitted 3 layers with lace outer, shortened and a bustle put in to tie up the train), and I felt like I was in safe hands throughout the experience! Alexia really makes an effort to ensure that everything is done properly and to a high standard. I appreciated the time and attention taken to make sure I was satisfied with the results, and she even took a video for me so I could see how to tie up the train properly on my wedding day. The alterations were not cheap, but still very reasonably priced considering the type of garment and the quality of the work. I cannot thank Alexia and her team enough. They created a beautiful gown for me - it was made for my own wedding, but they followed my brief exactly, meaning that I will be wearing my dress for many years to come at black tie events and maybe even one of my own children's weddings! They took incredible care over every detail - including the choice of fabric - i had lots of options to choose from and they guided me in the right direction as i wasn't sure what to choose at first. They fitted the dress to me perfectly and advised on accessories such as shoes, jewellery and even the right bra! The service was over and beyond the norm and far far exceeded my expectations. They were very fast and efficient, puling all this together in a short time period. And they even altered my step - daughter's Alexa Chung trouser suit too - at a moments notice. I loved the calm tranquillity of their fitting rooms - I loved going there and taking a few minutes out of my busy life to focus on my dress as well as have a lovely chat with such a professional team. Exceptional tailors. Had a gown, bikini, cocktail dresses, pants and every other piece of item tailored and they managed to fix and restyle how I imagined it. After shortening a Dolce dress they even made a hairband as a gift for me to wear it with the dress. I took my mother to the shop and now she'll only tailor her clothes in London. INCREDIBLE! I cannot speak highly enough of Alexia, her incredibly talented seamstresses that worked on my dress and of the beautiful place itself. I had been recommended Alexia’s Alterations after searching high and low for someone who would have the expertise to work on my wedding dress, which was made of a delicately embellished tulle. Alexia was extremely flexible at fitting me in at such short notice, and at times that would suit my schedule as I had to travel to London, with only 5 weeks to the wedding. I was made to feel completely at ease by Alexia during and in between our appointments, and the atelier itself is so luxurious and beautiful! The seamstress went through every part of the process with me during the 3 appointments, and her level of expertise and clear passion for her work was evident. The end result was EXQUISITE. Hands down the best alterations place in London and I wish I'd been aware of them sooner. I was greeted with a glass of champagne and had a 2-hour appointment to myself - with both Alexia and her seamstress, rather than sharing a mini-space with other customers, which seems customary everywhere else. Alexia had pre-assigned a dedicated seamstress to me, based on the nature of my alterations, which were quite specific and which she listened to patiently. Not only did the seamstress have decades of experience working for a top fashion designer, hence was more knowledgeable than any tailor I've ever come across, she was also a wonderful person and gave me tips on how to work out at the gym and what to do less of in order for my wedding dress to compliment my figure best.
