I’ve been seeing Alex since December 2016 when I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure and I had read about the potential benefits of acupuncture as a complementary treatment to my medication. I’ve just had a check up with my GP and we are both thrilled with the ongoing improvements in my BP readings. As well as this, Alex has helped me with other issues over the past few years including joint pain, PMT and headaches - always with an open ear to listen, advice on hand and a very warm and welcoming space. I’ve seen Alex for a number of years. My entire family enjoy his expertise. When undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer he helped me alleviate the nasty side effects of “metal mouth”. Post surgery his skills assisted me with dealing with menopausal flashes from Tamoxifen. More recently Alex has introduced his half & half. 30 minutes of the most relaxing facial, neck & décolletage massage. Followed by 30 minutes of acupuncture. This treatment is simply blissful. I would recommend Alex highly and unreservedly at any time and especially today when his magic treatment lifted my horrendous cluster headache and I came home a new woman (my daughter said she couldn't believe the difference! ). When I first went to see Alex, i was sceptical on how the treatment would go and whether it would be successful or not, I had a right to be unsure after trying almost everything in the book for "skin condition cures". The acupuncture helped to clear the eczema completely off my hands and the treatment allowed me to relax and calm down at the same time. Any questions i asked relating to acupuncture were answered in detail and with professionalism, he also advised me on how to maintain my skin in the long term. I had 2 courses of acpuncture with Alex. What I liked about Alex was he really listened to what I said and dug a bit deeper to ascertain the relevant information. I also like the fact that he tells you up front that if he does not think acupuncture is the right therapy for you, or it will have limited benefits for you he has the integrity to tell you. Alex Lochhead is a fantastic acupuncturist! He works both in Harrogate and York. I've had several treatments with him at one of his York clinics. Alex is professional and friendly and clearly has a passion for acupuncture! What I really like about Alex is that he takes time to get to know his clients and to explore their health and lifestyle thoroughly so that he may treat not only any issues I might be consciously aware of and also issues that may be going on unconsciously. At the start of each treatment he reviews how I am and how I've been - no treatment is the same as the last. I always get what I need from each session.
