Alan was our photographer for our wedding on Thursday 30th May. I’d done lots of research on photographers and photography packages when we first started planning the wedding 18 months ago, and Alan came highly recommended by a friend. We first met with him at a wedding fair at Lumley Castle where we had a quick chat and arranged a proper meeting with him to discuss details. Right from the start, Alan’s manner was friendly and very approachable, and we quickly felt at ease with him. Our pre-wedding shoot took place up in Bamburgh. We’d been concerned that this would be a little too far for Alan to travel, but nothing was too much for him, and he even suggested we meet at sunrise (c. 5:30am) for photos - we didn’t take him up on this!! Fast forward to our wedding day and Alan arrived at the hotel where the bridal party was getting ready. He quickly got to know the rest of the party and was soon cracking jokes which made everyone feel at ease. I had one or two small wobbles when I was getting ready as stress started to creep in, but Alan was there with a reassuring nod and smile, and it quickly calmed me down and helped me get on with enjoying the day. After the ceremony when it was time for all of the group shots, he took control of the situation and made organising 75 people into shots look so easy, and the photos all went off smoothly and trouble-free. Alan was great with the younger guests, some of whom weren’t too keen on having their photos taken! I was especially pleased at how well he got on with our young flower girl, who I was afraid may have been a bit shy in front of the camera. One of the most amazing things about having Alan as our photographer, though, was our guest book. Almost at the 11th hour we’d decided that we’d like to add on a guestbook for our guests to sign. Alan disappeared at the start of the meal and reappeared towards the end with a fantastic photo guest book, complete with photos taken just hours earlier! Our guests couldn’t get over how quickly he managed to get this done. The photo quality wasn’t compromised in any way, it looks so professional and it was a lovely way for some of our evening guests to share in the events of the day. For us, it’s a fabulous reminder of our amazing day, and we can’t wait to get the rest of our photos back!! Since the big day, we’ve had several guests comment that they thought our photographer was brilliant, and we wholeheartedly agree. We couldn’t have had a better person to capture all of the memories from our special day. We’d recommend Alan to any couple looking for a top-quality, friendly and generally wonderful photographer. Alan is simply the best photographer you could have to capture images of your special day. He is warm, friendly and amazing at what he does. He can make a simple shot into an artistic masterpiece. All of our guests thought he was fantastic, he made everyone feel at ease. He was even on hand with super glue and to help button up my dress, he definitely goes the extra mile to help wherever he can. My husband and I usually avoid photos as we don’t like the results, we love all of the ones we have seen so far from Alan, he really knows how to get the best from you. He also does a pre wedding shoot which gets you used to the camera before your big day, this was a big help for us. Alan made a guestbook for us during our wedding meal and it is amazing. From taking photos to arranging the petticoats on my dress, re-sewing a button that popped off my dress and sorting the hook up on my train it's fair to say you went above and beyond.
