I've been training with John for the past 8 years. He's continually found new and exciting ways to build highly tailored and challenging programmes to keep me active and motivated.
Whether it’s kettlebells or resistance bands, floor or body weight exercise, John provides really enjoyable sessions which help you to concentrate on correct technique, improve movement and strengthen core. The latter has been especially important to me, as I have a couple of pre-existing injuries/weaknesses.
Using his martial arts background, John has incorporated outdoor boxing pad-work into our regular sessions – I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the variations of combinations, movements, speed work – and building up a substantial sweat!
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, John's online sessions have been a fundamental part of my week. He's helped me to find new ways to stay fit within the 'stay-at-home guidelines'. With John's support, advice and guidance outside of our sessions, he has helped me to keep active and build strength at a time when I’ve been chained to my desk more than ever.
Above all else, John is a really nice guy. Positive mindset, great sense of humour and a fantastic trainer!

I've had the great fortune to meet and work with John, who is the only PT who has been able to help me deal with chronic back pain which has been giving me trouble for 10 years.
John has great precision, intent and balance in his approach, caring for the individual he's working with. He pushes where required, while being careful where needed. He puts a lot of effort into producing and delivering his work, which is well thought-through and with intent, in order to achieve results. John has always been very punctual, professional and reasonably priced.
Finally, on a personal note, John is a pleasure and fun to work with. I sincerely can't recommend him enough!

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
Realistic goals are important, but MOTIVATION is key. Whatever goal you set for yourself, we will break it down and develop a plan of action. With a concrete plan, a wealth of knowledge and good motivation you should reach your goals in no time.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
DISCIPLINE. To achieve the body you want, you need to be prepared to make sacrifices and you need to "show up" consistently. This means that every session must be treated seriously, you need to prioritise recovery and follow a healthy nutritional plan.
What do you love most about your job?
Being outdoors, meeting new people and trying to impart my passion for health and fitness to others!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Being able to completely dedicate myself to my clients and their goals, and having the freedom to apply my own training principles and approach. Choosing your own working hours isn't bad either!!

Yes, remote/online personal training sessions are available. Online training allows the trainer and client to work together remotely. You will still receive high-quality coaching and instruction, whilst being cosy in your own home. Just because you can't make it to a gym, doesn't mean you can't train properly!
One to One Training
One to one Personal Training is the most effective form of training. I train my clients using functional training principles - train the movements instead of the muscles. This method of training is better suited to modern-day life as it can help to reduce chronic injuries such as back pain, whilst helping you perform better at your daily activities.
Online Training
Online training allows the trainer and client to work together remotely. You will still receive high-quality coaching and instruction, whilst being cosy in your own home. Just because you can't make it to a gym, doesn't mean you can't train properly!
Group Training
Although the structure of a group session may differ from a one-to-one Personal Training session, the content and benefits remain the same. Every session is tailored to all clients individual needs or goals. In fact, buddy training allows for a variety of different training methods and exercises both fun and effective. And in some cases, beautifully painful! It is recommended, however, to choose a partner with similar goals and fitness levels to your own in order to gain maximum benefits.
