Q&As

My job is what was my hobby. I enjoy meeting new people and making their computer work better for them.

I worked for one of the Banks for 28 years, the last 9 years of which were spent doing PC support whcih I loved. When I left the bank (20 years ago) I decided to carry on the same work supporting local home users and small businesses.

I am a one man band, with over 30 years experience of doing PC (Windows) support, I can be contacted easily by phone/text/WhatsApp/email and can usually get out to see the problem the same day or next day as appropriate. Depending on the problem I can either fix onsite or where there is more work involved I will being the machine to my home where I will fix (if possible) and return in a timely manner.

I do subscribe to a remote access service, and can do some jobs remotely. A lot of customers are wary about remote access which is understandable, and they do prefer me to visit which I am happy to do.

As most of my work is in the customers homes it was difficult but I had hand sanitiser in my car which I used before and after any job. And I obviously also wore a face mask.

Services

Setup amd configure new machines, including transfer of data from an old machine or hard drive

Install and configure software including Office and security software

I subscribe to a remote access service which will allow me to carry out work remotely, if you are happy for me to do so.

I can remove any virus or malware infection your machine may get.

In many cases the best option is to backup the machine, wipe the hard drive, reinstall Windows, updates and programs and restore data. I can do this.

Setup and configure machines (including TV's etc) onto your wifi network.
