Services

Experianced, fully insured and qualified tree surgeons offering all aspects tree care from pruning to dismantling/felling undesirable specimens in a safe and efficient manner.

Examples of types of work regularly carried out;

Reduction pruning;
Pruning back branches on part of or on the overall canopy to maintain the tree at a desirable size while keepinh an natural aesthetic. This has limitations as over pruning can cause stress to the tree and produce epicormic growth. Cuts are made to a secondary branch of an appropriate size to alow the tree to heal.

Crown thinning;

Target pruning throughout the canopy to remove any crossing/rubbing branches to limit branch failure and allow more light into the canopy and reduce wind sail effect.

Crown raising/clearance prurning;

Target pruning lower branches (crown raising) to lift the canopy of the tree for reasons such as to provide clearance for vehicals/people/structures and allow more light to underplanting or into buildings. Clearance pruning is similar however a branch maybe be removed or pruned back anywhere in the canopy depending on the situation e.g. Near power lines, over a road, roof gutters etc.

Tree removal;

Sometimes a tree is considered no longer appropriate for its setting and needs removing. When doing so we assess the risks involved, create a plan and carry out the work in the most efficient and safe way possible. Sometimes that is felling the tree in a controlled way from the base in one go. Other times it requires climbing and dismantling the tree peice by peice, often using rigging techniques amd equipment that allow the tree to come down in a controlled way avoiding potential hazards (buildings, roads, flowebeds) within its proximity.

Habitat creation and bird box installation;

Most of the time we remove waste generated from site however sometimes it can be appropriate to leave material behind as a home to valuable wildlife. Occasionally we leave a portion of the main trunk as a 'wildlife stump' creating as natural a look as possible to attract birds and insects and add to the important ecosystem within our gardens. We can also install bird boxes in healthy trees in a non invasive way.
