My bestie went to Abbeycare for rehab treatment for alcohol, she's still doing well. I was able to help out for the admission and visiting etc. Beautiful surroundings in the countryside, staff seemed to know the best treatment for this disease, it takes no prisoners. She tells me therapy was amazing, she had huge insights and looks amazing leaving treatment! Hope she never has to repeat. If you're looking for detox or alcohol treatment, these guys know addiction back to front. More...

I was resident in Abbeycare over a six week period beginning in July of this year. Since leaving Murdostoun Castle I have not lifted alcohol or any other narcotic and my life has improved immeasurably. The help and the support that the staff at Abbeycare provided has enabled me to grow and develop and to live a productive and happy existence. During my stay at Abbeycare I was given the tools to recover, I was enabled to look at underlying issues in a challenging but caring environment and I was helped to prepare for sober living in my community. Murdostoun Castle is a beautiful building, it is modern and comfortable and it has really lovely surroundings. Adding to the surroundings the staff are incredibly warm and helpful, they have a vast depth and range of experience with many of them being in recovery themselves. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anybody struggling with addiction issues give themselves and Abbeycare a chance and I wish you well in your recovery. More...

3 years ago today Abbeycare team members came to my home and took me to Murdostoun (Scotland branch) where I stayed for a month. In that month they helped me move from the position of rampant alcoholic through a phase of disgruntlement and self denial (I really didn't want to or feel that I needed to be there although I did go in voluntarily) and on to recovery. I would go as far as saying that Abbeycare saved my life and they helped me and encouraged me into a new phase of new life. They equipped me with great tools and a fantastic plan to help get me back into a drink free world. Three years ago today I last had a drink and today I feel just great.Abbeycare - the place and the whole team - are absolutely wonderful - quite the best. They pull no punches but if you play ball with them they will help you, as they undoubtedly did for me.if you have problem with drinking - and you will know that you are drinking too much - and you really and truly want to stop - get in touch with Abbeycare - you definitely won't regret it.I know I will be forever in their debt. I was deaths door when I went to Abbey care at the age of 22. I had a four week detox, but the main thing I took from the experience was they made me realised that I had serious addiction issues. I suffer from an illness that can only be treated and never cure. The staff were pleasant understanding experienced. Generally amazing people . The CBT therapy that I received from David fidler was outstanding the therapy they're gave me the tools to change my life unfortunately as an addict I thought I could do it my way 6 months after leaving and had a miserable time I'm back working a 12 step program now and Abbey Care introduced me to this for that I am forever grateful More...

A professional environment which retained a homely atmosphere. Not a dogmatic regime, though some discussions could become animated, it did engender thoughtful self appraisal. I thought the programme content and advisory aspects were perfectly structured to guide me to get myself on my personal road to recovery (a lot of me and my's there, and quite deliberate).Only three years on and still a very strong sense of gratitude. I came here at 26, utterly broken and unsure as to who I was, what I was doing and where I was going in life. Abbey care newmarket helped me put myself back together. I had no idea what to expect from a rehab, I only thought it was where celebrities came when they got caught out.I could not have been more wrong. My journey during abbeycare was and is the best experience of my life to date. The highest level of service and care was taken to help me discover this untapped lifestyle of recovery. Their intense and smaller client base gives you so much time and focus from their beautifully experienced team, each member having their own character and input. I cannot stress enough of how every aspect of their programme has given me guidance in not just who I am but what I'm capable of.A truly incredible honour having been here. Anyone unsure as to my words here just pick up the phone and talk to the staff should put any worries at bay.If your willing to put the effort in this place is the true meaning of the word "rehabilitation."
