Can’t stress enough how poor this service is! Booked a car for 3 hours and had it for less than 1 hour at our wedding. Didn’t get photos with it. The owner Gary refuses to refund what we are rightly owed for an INCOMPLETE job and has resorted to playing the victim implying I am lying and told the driver to leave and claiming he has been blackmailed because of the bad reviews left as a result of his poor service which we are entitled to review. He has also to my amazement, even used the hardship of the pandemic on the wedding industry as a way of gaining support when he is in the wrong. I lost my father in the middle of the pandemic and didn’t get much time with him in his last months EVERYONE has suffered in some way. Our wedding was the first joyous family occasion since my dads funeral which has been tarnished by abbey weddings . The other vendors we used for our wedding had also struggled but were brilliant so he has no excuse! Judging from his responses to other negative reviews in the past he clearly has a problem accepting fault and rectifying it professionally. This shouldn’t be allowed to go on any longer. We tried speaking to Gary directly to give him the chance fix this issue but instead he made it worse by being so dismissive and dishonest! Shameful! More...

I'm not one to usually post reviews unless a) the experience was exceptional or b) the experience was unacceptable. Unfortunately, the car hire Abbey Weddings provided for a wedding I recently attended was the latter.
The driver was unfriendly, and LEFT the wedding venue 2 hours earlier than booked for - meaning the groom did not even get to SEE THE CAR, nor could the bridal couple get photographs taken with it. The cars even have trackers in them - meaning the company can confirm the timings and location of the vehicle. Due to the 2 hour early leave, the bride and groom are entitled to at least a £400 minimum refund, as per the hire costs. Any reputable company has a duty to adhere to agreed upon levels of service, and should they fall short of what is expected and agreed upon, any professional would seek to rectify the situation via exceptional customer service and reimbursement of any monetary loss. Incredibly, Abbey Weddings has taken the opposite approach and has been dismissive, dishonest and completely unprofessional. The bridal couple have been left at least £400 out of pocket and with a soured note to their special day.
I would highly recommend that any potential customers reading this should AVOID ABBEY WEDDINGS so that they do not receive poor treatment on their big day.

Thank you for your review (even though it was not your wedding). Now let's find out what really happened. The car arrived early and in perfect condition. The wedding then proceeded to run very late, so late in fact that there was a conversation to the effect that the car was not needed anymore when it was at the venue. The bride told the driver he can go. All fine, job done. We then get an email the next week saying if we don't give them all their money back, they will tell everyone on social media. We had done nothing wrong, so I told the couple we won't be refunding anything. Like everyone in the wedding industry we have had a tough 18 months, with no money, so it's particularly disappointing to be blackmailed like this.

Gary and his team were perfect. We had an amazing day and all captured but the lovely photos taken. I was such a nervous bride and our driver of our car was amazing he kept me calm and thinking about anything and everything other than the fact I was about to have over 100 people stare at me as I walked through the door. Driver was amazing and had us in stitches on the way to the reception and we got the photos back after three weeks and was NOT disappointed.
