Dr. Mike is excellent.  Unlike most vets, he seems to care more about the pet than the bottom line.  My dog had an issue and any other vet would have told me that I had no other option than surgery.  Dr. Mike gave me alternatives.  When a doctor suggests a less expensive alternative, it seems clear that the doctor cares more about the patients than the almighty dollar.  He also has some kind of strange jedi mind trick that he uses to calm down my normally insane pets. Could not be more happy with AAA pet services. My 4 year old pitbull mix has a wellness plan which is well worth the cost (about $20/month. ..very affordable). When my dog needed to be sedated for a minor procedure, they fit me in that same day and were incredibly helpful in getting him ready to go home - Kim even helped us get him (70 lbs - not easy to maneuver) down the stairs and into my car! Mike took the time to explain future services for my elderly pup, he was able to quickly calm the anxiety of Maxine (12 yrs) and she even let him handle her posterior (something no one else can do). ... our whole family uses AAA pet services and it's nice being recognized when I'm bringing in another pet for one of my extended family. He is extraordinary at diagnosis and treatment.  I have moved away and moved back to Charlotte and went right back to Dr Mike. I heard about Dr. Mike and AAA Pet Services from a coworker who had nothing but great things to say and I am so glad for her suggestion. The folks there are professional and friendly, and the prices are good too, in my opinion. Since my dog needed a dental cleaning and various other things, I opted for the medium-level annual wellness plan (similar to pet insurance) which is $34 a month. It covers 2 office visits, a dental cleaning, several vaccines, unlimited nail trims, a heartworm test, a parasite exam & deworming, and a few other things. There is a cheaper option that provides less coverage and a more expensive option that includes more. Another plus is that they have a groomer on staff so it truly is a one stop shop for me. I have been taking my animals to Dr. Mike since 1998.  I moved away from NC for 11 years, and when I returned, my senior dog was having some issues that other vets were not helping with.  I thought to myself "I should call Dr. Mike!".  So glad I did... it was like we picked up right where we left off.  He is easy to talk to, cost effective, thorough, and helpful.  It feels like home, instead of a busy clinic where you are simply a number.  I would recommend Dr. Mike to anyone. We like our current vet, but they've kind of grown large. We liked them before, so it's time to give a newer, smaller vet a try. And here we are at AAA Pet Services Hospital.Located at a busy part of Park Road between Woodlawn and Tyvola, the facility is clearly a converted home. The waiting room is what used to be the living room, the patient consulting area happens in the kitchen and the treatment area and some kennels are in one of the side bedrooms. Not that there's anything wrong with a home that's now a pet hospital.For our service today, we brought one of our senior cats for a checkup after purchasing a coupon from Angie's List (we have a few others in our menagerie that will visit next). The exam was thorough, the doctor and his two assistants were helpful and efficient, and we were quite pleased with how it was performed and the results. They have the tools to examine the bloodwork on site, which is helpful. They're just a little limited for some of the more serious treatments like ultrasounds and whatnot.And then the bill. Well, we'd paid for a coupon on Angie's List that included all sorts of things. During the examination, the vet said that he didn't need all of the services included in that coupon and so instead of burning a $200 coupon, our bill was simply $76. Very nice and we can save that coupon for another visit with one of our other fur babies.Good service, nice warm fuzziness from the place and the staff. I think we may well have found a new vet. Annette and her team are superstars! Quite frankly, we don't know what we'd do without them. We have three dogs and both work - although from week to week, it's difficult to pin down sometimes exactly when we'll be out the house for extended periods of time. AA Pet Services have worked around our somewhat sporadic need of their services and have been highly professional at all times - and the dogs LOVE them! They have masses of fun - sometimes mixing with other dogs when out for extended periods. Annette goes that extra mile.
