I took Eddie, our 18 month Golden retriever to A1 dog training because he was controlling and literally dragging me around when we went out. Andy was amazing and within 3 sessions our roles had reversed and Eddie is now walking to heel, obeying commands such as recall, sit stay etc., This is without a doubt, due to Andy's patience and understanding (of us both)! He passed on his excellent training skills and I have no doubt in highly recommending this centre. Definitely an A1* service. More...

Took our three year old Border Collie rescue dog who hasn't had any lead training and within 5 mins Andy had him walking to heel, he explained how to hold the dog on lead correctly to encourage the dog to walk by my side rather than in a way which rewards the dog for pulling. With Andy explaining the reasons behind his training method it is easier to grasp as an owner so that you can go home and reinforce what you and your pet will learn. More...

This is a very good training centre and I’m proud of what my dad has achieved, years of dedication and knowledge in various sectors in the security industry and especially with dogs, I personally would rate him as one of the best in the country if not the best. I have seen him turn dogs around and make the best of their potential regardless of what the clients needs are weather it be obedience or behaviour or for a certain job this man knows what to do!! Andrew has an exceptional rapport with dogs from all backgrounds and behaviours and has a true gift for teaching both animals and owners, whether that be for domestic pet behaviour or something a little more structured for a working dog basis and always provides this with a wonderful sense of humour.
He also listens closely to what your specific goals and needs are and tailors your training experience to meet those requirements.
I would definitely recommend no other but A1 Dog Training for any pets or working dogs.

What inspired you to start your own business?
Over 25 years ago, my wife who is also my partner & my first service dog who was a re home & re train from the Defence Animal Centre @ Melton Mowbray who went on to perform in TV & FILM
