Have always loved this place but today it let us down a bit....... starters of scotch egg where not good, egg not cooked through! I ordered chicken burger, which is normally thigh meat with a sweetcorn relish, today it was breast with no relish making it dry and quite boring. On the plus side steak, suet pudding and beef burger all went down well. All in all food wasn't up to the expectations we had based on previous experience. Chris and team literally saved our bacon by catering for our wedding 14.09.19 at short notice when our existing caterers sadly had to pull out. We couldn't have asked for any more, food was amazing, staff so friendly and helpful they really couldn't do enough. Spent one night in Hull last night and found this treasure. AMAZING. We will make the 2.5hr drive again and stay over just to eat here again. Scallops - perfect. Steak and Belly Pork - incredible and the cheese cake and cheese board - exquisite. The wine list caters for all. The lovely lady who served us (20:30 02.05.19) was friendly and told us about the history of the building and local bespoke hotels. Bravo to you all. More...

Hidden gem in the old town. Make sure you book, it's not the cheapest, but quality always costs that little bit extra. Great meal, great service. Narrow stairs for anyone that has a problem with them .Now for the food.. hummus a bit dry. But that's the only thing I could fault. Venison, Haddock Scottish not to be missed. I went there earlier today. Truly amazing main courses from the bar menu, worth every penny. The sliders were what I have been looking for going around Hull's various burger places, the poutine was gorgeously balanced, and the lobster mac and cheese packed a lot of flavour in.

Chris and his team provided the catering for our amazing wedding on the 18th of August 2018, they provided us with an amazing bespoke menu that everyone was so excited about and still speak about today! Chris and his team were very helpful throughout our journey with them, they catered for all variations of dietary requirements including a smaller version for the children who also thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the presentation including all the finer details was outstanding.
