About

I'm a certified dog trainer, specialising in training puppies of all sizes and breeds. I am a force-free, fear-free, positive reinforcement trainer and work with clients on a one2one basis, usually at their home initially, and focus my training on life skills and what the individual puppy needs to grow into a confident adult dog in the environment it is being raised.

Q&As

I've lived with dogs my entire adult life, and having my own children so comfortable around dogs was something I took for granted. I began showing youngsters I'd come across how to read dog body language using my own dogs to help, and so becoming a dog trainer was heavily influenced by this desire to help build better human-canine relationships. As well as my puppy/adolescent training which I absolutely LOVE, some of the most rewarding aspects have been helping growing families address their dog's needs and helping children overcome their fears and anxieties towards dogs - this is truly life-changing for the child and their family.

Working in London, where distractions can feel ever present, I'm a believer in building strong foundations early and focussing on the bond between pup and his/her carer. By listening to the challenges that owners face and treating each dog with fresh eyes, I use positive reinforcement to empower dogs and owners with the life skills to live busy lives together. I play many games, involve family members where possible and use lots of simple everyday toys and objects in my sessions to show owners that training can be engaging, easily doable in different environments and hugely rewarding for both dog and owner!

I prefer to work locally in-person with clients and their dogs. This allows me to observe interactions closely and get to know both the clients and their dogs very well in their own environment.

I continue to take Covid precautions seriously. Should any client feel uneasy about me coming into their home we will try and find a way for training to continue so that all parties feel safe. I take regular lateral flow tests, and expect client to do the same should they be experiencing any symptoms. I will always wear a face mask if a client requests it and sanitise my hands / equipment after every client visit.

Services

As an approved professional, I offer a unique programme which helps kids overcome their fear of dogs. Runs over ten weeks, seven of which are short sessions over zoom (three in-person), this programme is based on the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and helps kids resonate with dogs and become familiar with dog body language and expression.
It's a very effective protocol designed for kids aged 4+, and aims to empower kids with the knowledge and understanding of dogs - and the confidence they need to feel comfortable around their own dog, and/or dogs in general. Please contact me for pricing and availability.

I offer a superb six week puppy programme, which aims to give clients the support they need to set their puppy up for future success as they embark on their training journey. We cover loose lead walking, toilet training, recall techniques, puppy biting/chewing advice, home environment set up and management, appropriate play, enrichment, and if necessary, helping kids to bond with their puppy in a safe, controlled manner.
Please contact me or check my website for pricing and any seasonal offers I may be running.
